A Poor Sequel,
By Tan Peng (Singapore, Singapore Singapore) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Citadel (Paperback)
I love The Initiation of PB500. However the sequel The Citadel is a disappoiontment. The slave's master turns out weak and easily manipulated in this book. Much of the book describes a series of humilation on the slave witnessed by an audience with scant desire for the slave. The plot twists and turns that lead to the slave restoring his master's dignity are not very believeable. This sequel lack the sexual tension of the slave-master relationship of the first book.

In this sequel to The Initiation of PB500 the story most definitely hots up. The writing is more erotic, and the training, disciplining and torture are more extreme, in addition there are interesting characters including the pearlboys. But there is much more to the book, the plot is good, and the drama and tension are maintained, and running throughout is a story of betrayal, loyalty and above all a love of one warrior for another.

One of my favorites!,
By TammyJo Eckhart "TammyJo Eckhart" (Bloomington, Indiana United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: The citadel. (Paperback)
Ah a story which is complex, science fiction, and contains very arousing encounters all in one book. A good find, a rare find that should be promoted by purchasing and passing it along to your friends. Whether you are gay or straight, male or female, bottom or top, I think you can empathize with the trials and tribulations of our lost soldier not doubly lost from his native master. This second book in Kyle Stone's series gives us more insights into how the native culture works and the complexities that weren't even hinted at in the first. It is a book I pick up and read, or at least read parts of it, over and over again.
