Citiblocs - the BEST building toy!,

This review is from: Citiblocs Original Wooden Building Block Set - 200 Pieces (Toy)
My son owns a fortune in similar building blocks, we've been collecting for years. Citiblocs,a new product, are the same excellent product at a much better price, than Kapla or others in the marketplace.
Citiblocs building blocks are all the same shape and size - perfectly balanced - which is the key. These blocks allow unlimited building potential. It's easy to build big, intricate structures, as high as six feet tall - or however high you can reach, with all sorts of interesting details and additions. My son began using these at six years old. He's almost 16 and still building structures with these blocks. It's amazing what you can do because of the perfect balance of each piece. I know my son has intuitively learned math and engineering while using these blocks. Maybe this is what has sparked his interest in architecture.... Each plank is nicely finished and percisely milled so they are all exactly even. The fine finish and exactly equal weights and size are very important to the success in this type of building. Citibloc planks are identical and interchangable with the other types in my son's collection - thus completely compatible. Citiblocs brings top quality product joined with an affordable price. Thank you Citiblocs!

I disagree with the person who reviewed these blocks for her 3-year-old and said it was too expensive for not a lot of fun. The toy itself doesn't deserve any negative reviews. I do think that some kids just doesn't like blocks, no matter how cheap or expensive they are! SO... these blocks are for kids who love blocks, and if you have those kids, get this set. It is reasonably priced, and the blocks are so stable that even my 2-year-old can handle. We actually got 3 sets of the 54-pieces for each of my children, the ones with colors (light green and light blue, red and blue, and orange and yellow). This way, there is no argument as to whose set is whose.
My children do not automatically gravitate towards these blocks, but when they see me sitting down and building something, their interest gets perked immediately. Once they start, they can play with these for a while. However, I think 2 or 3 year olds will not play with these for a long time, because they just usually don't play with any toys for a long time! I have 3 kids, and I extensively research all my toys before making any purchase. Most toys are clutter, but these, despite how many pieces there are, are not. They are educational, fun, and creative. They touch on both your scientific side and your creative side. Also, these are fun for adults, too (I play with them all the time), and it's a perfect thing to sit down with your children to do. I can't play dressup, and I hate race cars, but building blocks and making things architectural, artistic and balanced is a turn-on for an adult like myself. *****!!!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Citiblocs Original Wooden Building Block Set - 200 Pieces (Toy)
We were first introduced to this item at a museum in uptown Charlotte. They were made by a company called Kapla, however, Kapla blocs cost twice (if not triple) the amount I paid for citiblocs. The entire family has enjoyed these blocs and it helps keeping the brain active and creative for all. I even had a group of middle school boys over and they chose to play with these for over 2 hours which beat the amount of time they played the PS3, IPod touch, and Nintendo DSi altogether. We purchased 4 200piece sets for a total of 800 so that everyone could participate at once to build and play. The only thing I would do now is purchase a set of color blocs as well. These blocs look and feel the same as the ones in the museum. I see no difference. Great product.
