Editorial Reviews

The Eternal City, where all roads lead. The heart of the former ancient empire is now full with the establishments of the 21st century. The Circus Maximus and the Forum Romanum are only ruins now, but the Colosseum, theTriumphal Arch and Trajan's Column is still standing, while the Capitolium flourishes in its fullbeauty. One can see the the baths of Diocletian and Caracalla and can put one's hand in theMouth of Truth. The later periods added the Castel Sant'Angelo, the Fontana di Trevi, theSpanish Steps and the bridges crossing the Tiber to the landscape of the city built on sevenhills. In the middle of Rome, there is a country protected by the Swiss Guards: Vatican, thecentre of the Catholic world.Vatican,Saint Peter's Square and the Basilica,Castel Sant'Angelo,Piazza del Popolothe Spanish Steps, the Triton Well, the Baths of Diocletian,Santa Maria Maggiore,Quirinale square,Fontana di Trevi, the Column of Marcus Aurelius on Piazza Colonna,Campo dei Fiori,Largo Argentina, the Pantheon,Piazza Navona,Tiber Island, the Monument of Vittorio Emanuele,Trajan's Market, the Capitolium, the Forum Romanum, the Arch of Constantin, the Colosseum, the Circus Maximus, the Bocca della Verita",the Piazza di Cavalieri de Malta,Piazzale Ostiense, the pyramid of Cestius, San Paolo fuori le Mura,Via Appia Antica

5.0 out of 5 stars Going to Rome - see this DVD first! March 8, 2012
Format:DVD
It's not a Rick Steve's travel video but it provides great info and video sequences just the same. Clear, crisp, with fine narration about many attractions in Rome, some not obvious to regular tourists. I don't buy many DVDs, but after viewing a local library copy, I put it on my Wish List immediately (I will buy it myself if I have to)!
