Editorial Reviews

Transylvania boasts in various extremely beautiful landscapes. Its mountaintops are crownedby castle ruins, in its steep creeks rivers are twisting. In the giant wooden lands caves can befound, while among the alpine snow-capped mountains tarns are awaiting the tourists. Uniquesights are the Békás Canyon and the Killer's Lake, which guards the petrified pinewoods. Thewarm springs feed such spa-resorts as Tusnádfürd? or Szováta. The medieval townssurrounded by towers and walls tell us tales of the past. National costumes, carved Székelygatesand the works of the Korond potters represent the ancient art of the folks living here. Alegend or a story belongs to almost every city, every castle, no matter if it is the tall Dévacastle, Hunyadvár or Brán, the Castle of Count Dracula...KorondHunyadvárGyulafehérvárNagyszebenBrassóBránFogaras alpsPojánaLake of Saint Anna, Mohos marshlandPrázsmárAlsócsernátTusnádfürd?CsíkszeredeaCsíksomlyóSzárhegyThe Killer LakeBúrabékásSzovátaSzékelykeresztúrSegesvárKolozsvár

I'm from Transylvania and was pretty excited to see a DVD in English...however, this was really disappointing as you can tell it was done through the eyes of Magyars (transylvanan hungarians) which represent about 15% of Transylvanian population. The DVD is primarily focused on Magyar traditions, people and villages, which is accurate, however like I said they represent a tiny bit of what Transylvania truly is...I would not recommend the DVD as a reference for someone who would like to visit Transylvania...
