Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The Citizen Calibre 5700 stainless steel men's watch is loaded with style and powerful timekeeping features, with its one-second chronograph measuring up to 30 minutes. It's also powered by Citizen's unique Eco-Drive, which absorbs sunlight and any artificial light through the crystal and dial to recharge the watch continuously. With regular exposure to light, the Eco-Drive continuously recharges itself for a lifetime of use. It has a 150-day power reserve and a low-charge indicator.

This watch has a large, round silver stainless steel watch case--which measures 41mm (1.61 inches) wide and 10mm (0.39 inches) deep--that's topped by highly polished bezel with tachymeter readings in black. The hunter green dial background is accented by silver tone subdials, luminous hands, and baton dial markers. Other features include a date display at 4 o'clock, scratch resistant mineral crystal with anti-reflective coating, and water resistance to 100 meters (330 feet). It's backed by Citizen's 5-year warranty (from original date of purchase).

Eco-Drive Frequently Asked Questions
How can you tell if the Eco-Drive watch is getting enough light?
In normal use, the watch displays the time and the sweep-second hand moves in one second intervals. A very important feature of Eco-Drive is the Low Charge Warning Mode which as a result of low battery voltage, causes the second hand to jump two seconds at a time (while still keeping correct time).

How long will an Eco-Drive watch run after it is fully charged?
If your watch is put away where no light is available to it while in a fully charged state, depending on the model, it will run for from 45 days to 5 years.

How can the Eco-Drive watch be recharged?
Besides sunlight, it can be safely charged by exposing it to a fluorescent desk lamp, with the dial (face) up and within about 8 inches or an incandescent lamp (regular light bulb) no closer than 20 inches. Never use a halogen lamp since the heat generated by it can cause damage to your watch. The most efficient and the quickest is in direct bright sunlight (not windowsill) and never on the dashboard of a car.

The Citizen Story

The company was established in 1924. The founding fathers selected the name Citizen so it would be ""Close to the Hearts of People Everywhere"" and soon after adopted the company’s formal name, Citizen Watch Company.

During the last seventy-five years Citizen has expanded its business throughout the world and has achieved recognition as the global brand. The past twenty-five year period has coincided with the company’s dramatic rise to its current position as the world’s largest watchmaker, a distinction Citizen has held every year since 1986.

Beyond sheer size, Citizen is also recognized as a worldwide leader in advanced technology. From the world’s slimmest LCD watch to the first voice recognition watch and the world’s first professional dive watch with an electronic depth sensor, Citizen’s record of ""world’s firsts"" is unmatched.

More recently, Citizen has staked out a new position as the leader in timekeeping with its Eco-Drives watches that are light powered. With models ranging from dress models to sports models to professional dive watches, Citizen Eco-Drive runs continuously in any kind of natural or artificial light for a lifetime of use. Fueled by light, it never needs a battery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent deal on a fantastic quality timepiece!, January 20, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Citizen Men's AT1060-58W Calibre 5700 Eco-Drive Watch (Watch)
I don't know what the other guy went through, but I ordered mine from WatchZone and everything was brand-new, mint condition with all packaging and manuals.

This is a very attractive watch, although I'll probably replace the strap with a leather one soon; it's just my preference. The case is definitely solid and well-constructed of stainless steel. However, it is quite heavy.

The Eco-Drive technology is great, and I like that you don't ever have to replace a battery. Also, this watch is very accurate with its Japanese quartz movement.

Where else can you get a $400 watch of this quality for $140?? Nowhere. Buy this watch now. Any Seiko you can get for this price will be much more common than this gem. The compliments and uniqueness I receive with this Citizen are well worth the price of admission.

4.0 out of 5 stars Watch is fine-Packaging looked old or used., March 17, 2006
This review is from: Citizen Men's AT1060-58W Calibre 5700 Eco-Drive Watch (Watch)
As far as the watch is concerned, I am very satisfied. The quality is very good and it keeps good time. It is a heavy type watch, so if you don't like a heavier watch you might want to consider something else. The box that the watch came in was very beat up , it did not look new. Watch did not have any flaws but appeared to have been out of the box prior to my purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good at That Price, May 26, 2008
This review is from: Citizen Men's AT1060-58W Calibre 5700 Eco-Drive Watch (Watch)
In general, I'm fairly pleased with this purchase. I had no issues with the reseller (JTV Watches) or the timeliness of delivery.

The watch looks great and functions well so far. I was surprised to find that it feels a little `cheaper' overall than an equivalently priced Seiko. Nonetheless, it still feels in-line with the price-point.
