Good features, great price, only one complaint., February 9, 2006
This review is from: Citizen Men's AT1070-54L Calibre 5700 Eco-Drive Watch (Watch)
I am very happy with this watch. The weight of the watch is substantial - the entire thing is stainless steel. The links of the bracelet are a combination of brushed/polished which compliment each other well. Unfortunately, after just a couple days, I have noticed that the back of the case tends to scratch easily from rubbing against it's own bracelet. The clasp is one of the better ones I've seen. It's a pushbutton foldover with a secondary latch -- very secure. The bezel turns easily in one direction - however, it doesn't have as firm a feel as my Tag diver's. There is a bit of floating movement in the bezel when you press down on the top. Out of the box, the watch charged up very quickly to full power; I just left it sitting on my desk for a few hours under normal room lighting. And then... it stays charged for months even if you put it in a drawer. The accuracy is very good - it's essentially a quartz movement running under a solar rechargable battery so it's much more accurate than my seiko automatic. The manual states that it's accurate to +/- 15 seconds a month, but I really haven't noticed much of any loss/gain of time.
I'd say my only major complaint is that the second hand of the chronograph timer does not reset exactly back to zero on my particular watch. It seems to be right in the middle of two tick marks. Not too big of a deal in terms of functionality, but the little imperfections really bug me. It must be a quality control/calibration issue.
Good value for the money. Paid less than half what I would have ended up paying at a local department store.
