This is my second watch from Citizen and it is amazing! I debated between this one and the Blue Angels Edition (AT8020-54L), but in the end went with this one because of the all black look. This watch has all the bells and whistles I was looking for.

I won't highlight all the features of the watch but I'll point out some that stand out to me:

-Sapphire Crystal: Compared to a typical mineral crystal dials the anti-reflective sapphire crystal on the AT8024-51E is superb. The clarity of the watch dial is unbelievable no matter what kind of light conditions it's viewed under. The scratch-resistant property is also another nice plus.

-Radio Controlled: The watch receives a signal via radio every night from the regional atomic clock. The watch is always exact down to the second. The watch also has 26 world cities you can sync the time too. A very useful feature for those who travel often.

-Chronograph: The chronograph can measure up to 60 minutes and is accurate down to 1/20s.

-Perpetual Calendar: All my other watches need to be adjusted for shorter/longer months. With this watch there's no need to worry about adjusting the date. Everything is automatically set.

-Eco-Drive: The watch is powered by light and doesn't need any battery replacements. There's a charge level indicator on the top center subdial of the watch. It's shown full charge since I got the watch. A cool power-saving feature of the watch is that the second hand stops when the watch is in the dark for more than 30 minutes. After the watch is re-exposed to light the second hand goes back to its normal ticking state.

-Bracelet: The stainless steel bracelet is very comfortable and the all black finish is very nice. The bracelet has a fold-over clasp and is very easy to snap on and off.

In conclusion, this is an excellent watch from Citizen. It's packed with features and it's hard to find another watch like this on the market.

I just got the watch last night and I want to start off with saying that I love it. I rarely write reviews after purchases, but I remember being frustrated by the lack of reviews on this watch, so I figured I'd share my impressions.

Something that the photos on the Citizen website don't show is that there is a white recessed groove around the crown that is a nice accent to the rest of the black watch.

Some things to consider if you are thinking about getting this watch:
    1) The time is very easy to see. The combination of black face, white hands and white hour markings.

    2) The rest of the watch needs bright light to be able to see; the details are very small and the font is a middle grey which looks great, but doesn't stand out as much as white would against the black background. You probably won't be able to use the chronograph unless you are outside in bright sunlight or a very well lit room.

    3) The details are small. Yes, i said this before. If you have a problem with small type, you aren't going to be able to see much unless you are in bright light and are wearing your glasses/contacts. Personally, bright sunlight or a nearby reading lamp are required to be useable.

    4) Yes, the chronograph only works up to 60 minutes. If you need to time something longer than that, use your phone, or buy a dedicated stopwatch.

The watch that I had before this one was a Citizen Nighthawk. The Nighthawk has more contrast on the E6B rotating calculator, which makes it more useable in lower light, but this watch is quicker to read the time because the World Chronograph has better contrast with the hands on the face.

The Atomic Timekeeping feature of this watch is one of the main reasons I bought the watch and it works great.

Looks absolutely beautiful. So many compliments on the looks. Has way more features than you'd assume given an analogue watch. Still new so still ti see whether the black coating wears off after a few months or not. The only problem is that the manual included is generic and doesn't contain anything about the rotating crown on the left side of the watch which rotates the inner frame but still not sure to what end. Nothing against the watch itself it ia amazing and certainly looks like it cost as much as it did. I love the day light saving option and radio signal reception for automatic time zone adjustment and the fact that it corrects dates for leap years. I love it

My Techi son recommended Citizen's eco drive watches. I had a difficult time getting it set right - I finally called their help line and she had me up and running in 5 minutes. I should have called them earlier. Classic, Extremely functional. I can't imagine that I am never going to have to buy another battery, and possibly another Crystal for decades, but it appears that is the case. At first I got a Citizen watch with a leather band, but decided I did not want to have to pay for a new band every couple of years . . . . (new bands can cost up over $100). I am happy and very content!

This watch is not just a watch, it's a work of art. Absolutely stunning! If I must nitpick, the only setback was that in setting the watch's time and other functions but once this is done, it goes to memory and more time can be spent receiving complements and admiring this piece of art! I Highly recommend this watch!
