5.0 out of 5 stars Love it January 30, 2010

As a man with thin wrists I have a hard time finding watches that fit snugly. The leather strap on the Citizen Eco-Drive fits me like a dream, tight enough to remain in place but not enough to cut of circulation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice, dressy watch October 17, 2009

The main thing to note here is that the lines you see on the picture of the watch are not nearly as noticeable in the real world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good first watch for thin wrists October 16, 2011
I really like this watch. I have extremely thin wrists and this fits decently. I've gotten several compliments for it and I can tell them about how is eco friendly and the battery will never die.

Pro:

looks nice. sleek. simple. will last a long time. doesn't smell.

cons: no month/day display. no second hand (could be a bonus to some), the second belt that is supposed to keep the strap on the watch fell off after i played basketball. : This is after about 10 months of use. I have a few scratches on the outer side of the glass just because i put this watch through hell.

overall its nice and i highly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Date small and hard to read
The watch is great except that it loses a minute or two a month and the date is so small that you can't read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Watch!
Arrived factory charged and worked right out of the box. Very expensive looking watch and environment-friendly as no batteries are ever required.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classy and Ellegant
I wanted a watch that you dont have to keep buying batteries, and having to reset the time. I have had a self winding watch in the past, but if you did not have it on for a while,... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Delicate watch, not the band
The band is too easy to be stained. Although, it is true that I wore it doing chemistry experiments... But the stains upset me a lot.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality watch
Nice simple watch, you can wear it in formal attire or casually. The face is not large, nor is the strap wide. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars My second Citizens ECO Watch
I bought a Citizen's ECO watch (different style) and like it so much I bought this dressier version. I like the idea of not having to replace the watch's battery.

Product Description

Amazon.com

The Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Strap Watch combines a modern construction with a sleek, stylish design. This solar-powered Eco-Drive watch never needs a battery and remains charged for months at a time, even in the dark. And its confident, nearly all-black look is perfect for emboldening any attire, starting with its oversized circular dial. The dial is notched with luminous silver-tone hour markers that overlay a velvety black background etched with subtle vertical lines. Offering at-a-glance reference, a large date window sits alongside the three o'clock. The sharp silver-tone hour-and-minute hands are polished to a fine gleam, as are the black stainless steel bezel and case. Built to last, the bold black band is made of durable leather and offers easy fastening with a buckle clasp. Boasting a durable mineral window and the reliability of Japanese-quartz movement, this classy contemporary timepiece is water resistant to 99 feet (30 M).

The Citizen Story

The company was established in 1918. The founding fathers selected the name Citizen so it would be "Close to the Hearts of People Everywhere" and soon after adopted the company’s formal name, Citizen Watch Company.

During the last seventy-five years Citizen has expanded its business throughout the world and has achieved recognition as the global brand. The past twenty-five year period has coincided with the company’s dramatic rise to its current position as the world’s largest watchmaker, a distinction Citizen has held every year since 1986.

Beyond sheer size, Citizen is also recognized as a worldwide leader in advanced technology. From the world’s slimmest LCD watch to the first voice recognition watch and the world’s first professional dive watch with an electronic depth sensor, Citizen’s record of "world’s firsts" is unmatched.

More recently, Citizen has staked out a new position as the leader in timekeeping with its Eco-Drives watches that are light powered. With models ranging from dress models to sports models to professional dive watches, Citizen Eco-Drive runs continuously in any kind of natural or artificial light for a lifetime of use. Fueled by light, it never needs a battery.
