Great Watch!,

This review is from: Citizen Men's BJ2105-51E Eco-Drive Promaster Carbon Depth Meter Metric Dive Watch (Watch)
Received this watch a few weeks ago and I love it! Very durable and wears easy for such a big time piece. I have owned several Citzen Eco-Drives over the years, and they are premium quality at a bargain price. I also have a Breitling Navitimer and this watch compliments it well as a pratical every day wear, plus at the price you won't get upset when you scuff it. Great buy and a very high quality time piece!

Great Dive Watch,

I bought this for my husband at Christmas this past year. He is a certified diver and loves diving all over the Great Lakes (and more). Back in 2002, I bought him the Citizen Aqualand http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-BJ2004-08E-Eco-Drive-Aqualand-Two-Tone/dp/B000EQR6VG/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1301134977&sr=8-12. The aqualand lasted him a good five years or so before the wear and tear and his everyday beating up on it got the best of it and eventually one of the rubber straps came apart. He was thinking of just getting it fixed, but I decided it was time for a new one.I knew his next watch he wanted stainless steel straps (for that reason above) and also since he wears it everyday he wanted it to fit all occasions. When he opened up this new watch for Christmas. He was blown away. He said the look alone puts the old watch to shame. Pretty heavy, but not too bulky and absolutely fits perfect on his wrist. Not too big at all. I have to admit, it is a beautiful watch. Looks great on him. He is excited to test it out in the deep water this summer. You can't go wrong getting this watch for your man. He still thanks me.

Solid and Rugged Timepiece,

I've owned this watch for a while now and thought I would post a review. First of all I'm a "watch guy." I've owned Panerai, Rolex, Omega and others with a masculine appearance and I can honestly say this watch stacks up against all those brands. It looks like it should cost much more than it does. It feels as rugged and solid as all the more expensive watches, and at this price point you won't feel like fainting if you accidentally scratch it or otherwise give it that time-worn patina. The only reason I give it four stars and not five is that the bracelet doesn't allow for small adjustments, you can only remove whole links, not half links, and the clasp doesn't allow for small adjustments either like a Rolex, so the watch can fit a bit too snug or loose depending on your wrist. If you like your watches beastly, heavy, impressive to wear and behold, this is a great choice.

Having owned several Citizen Aqualand watches including the Titanium BJ2060-58E and JP1040-09E, among a few others, I expected this Promaster Carbon BJ2105-51E to be finely sculpted as well. While it does embody the typical shape/lines of the Citizen Aqualand series it has more of an angular "cut" than a "curve" on its stainless steel body/band. Why does this matter? Afterall shouldn't a men's watch have more angular "cuts" than "curves"? Because the angular cuts make it look very similar to the cheap Fossil watch I received last Christmas. It seems as if Citizen didn't bother spending enough time to CNC machine (or mold or however they do it) this watch into a unique look but rather took shortcuts and made it a generic look that can be found from various watch manufacturers. Fortunately it has a distinctive black carbon fiber bezel that gives this Promaster Carbon watch its unique look as well as allow the dive bezel to rotate much easier than the other Aqualand watches.Aside from this minor aesthetic drawback, this Aqualand Promaster watch has the light powered Eco-drive system as well as the Japan movement that is to be expected of Citizen watches so one cannot go wrong there. As mentioned above, I have owned several Citzen Aqualand watches since the 90's, whether battery operated or light/solar powered, and I have yet to have one fail on me. Note that this watch is big, even bigger than your typical Citizen Aqualand watch. I only wear it on casual Fridays since there's no way it would fit underneath my buttoned dress shirt sleeve. Also, the dials are metric so if the decimal system makes no sense to you I wouldn't get this specific model, there is another Citizen Promaster Carbon that is numbered in feet. Perhaps I'm partial to the smooth, flowing lines of titanium cases/bands, however still very satisfied with this Citizen Aqualand Carbon watch. Wrist-Tank!,

I like tool and boutique divers like Helson, Deep Blue, Benarus, Boschett, etc. Citizen has really stepped it up lately with models like this one and the 3 hand (that I also have). These are solid tanks on the wrist and not at all what you'd expect from Citizen of years past. The case is a big 45 or 46 mm with a heavy and well constructed bracelet. The diver's clasp and lume on these is magnificent and a great shiny long lasting through the night intense blue. Eco drive means problem free to me, not just battery free. I'm very impressed. Also, when I called Citizen in Torrance, CA for a link, they sent me two of them for free and even paid for shipping. Class act all the way here. Grab one if you can!
