UPDATE (12/6/09): I noticed most reviews are made almost immediately after the purchase and before one has had some solid experience to report, so I thought I'd provide an update. I've had this watch for almost a year and I am still extremely happy with it. The BM6550-58E continues to keep good time and holds up well. I usually wear it several times a week, but also left it for a week or more without recharging with no noticeable effects.

My wife purchased an Eco-Drive lady's watch in the same timeframe and is also quite happy with it.

This review is for the BM6550-58E. I was looking for a stylish watch with stainless steel case and band that does not require battery changes. The watch is a simple analog dial with second hand and a date window. The hour and minute hands glow in the dark. As you'd expect, the time and date are set by the watch crown.

I purchased this watch specifically because of the Eco Drive feature. I wanted to have a timepiece that I could wear day to day without worrying that it would lose time or stop running because the battery needed to be replaced.

I've owned a Seiko Kinetic for about 10 years and when it started losing its capacity, learned while it needs no batteries, the capacitor which stores the electric charge and powers the watch needed to be replaced. So I thought I'd give Citizen's Eco Drive a try.

I've had this watch for about a month now, and so far so good. I wear it daily, and it seems to get sufficient charge from normal use (indoor office on weekdays, some outdoor sun on weekends). It's only gained a few seconds (by atomic clock) since I set it a month ago.

I have had a Citizen Eco-Drive watch now for over 10 years and have loved it. No maintenance what so ever is nice. This was my second Eco-Drive I bought and think it is actually better than my first one. They are now a little lighter in weight than the old ones. Grade A watch at a cheap price!

Watch was very stylish, Once I own it for about 6 months I will update my review as I just got it 2 days ago, I bought my son the black version of this watch and I liked it so much I had to order the silver color for me. So far love it! Price was reasonable, Kohls had it for about the same price with discounts.

This was a valentine's gift for my boyfriend. It is absolutely beautiful. Time has kept current since I purchased it about a month ago. The same watch is available at Macy's, Zales, etc. and Amazon offered it at a MUCH lower price. I highly recommend. I do however wish that is was waterproof but we have had no problems. Love it !! Thanks Amazon !!

I purchased this watch for my husband as his Christmas gift. He had been looking at watches for awhile and I thought the square face really makes this watch unique. I researched this watch on several sites and it sells for a lot more so I was happy to get it at a 25% discount. My husband really likes it and wears it everyday. it goes well with regular clothes or dress up. The only thing about it that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that it isn't more water resistant.

Love the styling, love the solar power.

I purchased this watch on a Cruise a couple years ago. I've literally never changed the time once since buying it and it has kept the exact time within the minute (only the date was incorrect). It has never once ran out of battery power or stopped for whatever reason. I've not tested its water resistance so I cannot attest to that but If you are looking for a stylish watch worth the money this is it. Ive owned many watches over the years and this one has never given me one problem. Oh yeah and it never needs a battery.

I was very impressed with how fast this arrived.
I am very happy with the watch except you can't make the date go backwards, only forwards. This is an issue for me because I cross the international date line quite often traveling from Australia to USA, but probably wouldn't concern most people.
It is comfortable to wear on my small wrist and the catch makes it very easy to get on/off.
The glow in the dark hands and hour points is OK (my last watch was a digital so it seems weak compared to a light).
