I just received my Citizen eco-drive. With its beautiful design and stunning blue dial it's a real "looker." It's also "green" since it's solar-powered and doesn't need batteries. There are lots of holes in the band so when diving it can be worn outside the diving suit. Whether or not you're a diver, this is a great watch to consider buying.

I have the black dial version of this watch. In addition to the dial color, the titanium case on the black dial version is matte, not polished like on the blue dial version.

Watch aficionados have nicknamed this watch, the Orca diver watch. While the Orca doesn't have all the bells and whistles of previous quartz sport watches that I bought at Amazon, it has a bold and almost in-your-face style. The night dial display is awesome, and the titanium case is super light.

The rubber strap is a refreshing change from the metal link bracelets which are sometimes difficult to size. I prefer the rubber for comfort, and it doesn't pinch.

PROS: lightweight titanium case, awesome night display, easy-to-read dial, solar powered, unidirectional bezel easy to use for timing dives (or parking meters)

CONS: watch case is relatively thick, so it won't fit comfortably under cuffs of long sleeved shirts

I have been a certified diver for over thirty years and have had a number of dive watches, this one is my favorite. I had had others with built in depth gauges, but with the emergence of dive computers this feature is unnecessary. All divers carry depth gauges anyway. This watch is just a very sturdy, very light timepiece with a large easily read face. I have three other Citizen Eco-Drive watches and do appreciate the fact that they do not need a annual battery change. Because dive watches have special seals, the replacement always required the watch be sent to a factory rep to be changed and usually required a turn around of a few weeks and a cost up to $70.
There is another review that discusses the depth ratings for dive watches. I have no idea where the person found this "information" but it is far from the the truth. The safe depth limit for recreational divers is 150 ft. This is the current suggested depth. Years ago we would dive to the, then recommended maximum depth of 200 ft., frequently. This was in Cozumel. This watch is rated to 200 meters (600 ft) and is more than adequate for 99.9% of divers. In short, this is a fine, and so far, reliable watch. Buy it!

Bought watch for it's echo friendly Solar Charge. I live in Hawaii (Kona) and spend a lot of my time in the ocean. I've been using it while Stand up Paddle Surfing, Free Diving for (He'e) octopus, and it keeps on ticking. Love the design of the watch, and the Blue Dial with all the luminous in it. The only down fall is the calender window, the numbers in it are a little small. Other then that it's 5 Stars.
Aloha!!!!

I bought the watch before a dive trip to the Caymans. It was a extremely reasonable priced Titanium dive watch from a well established watch maker. The oversized bezel is well made and easily turned with or without gloves. The large luminescent features on the watch are amazing. When fully charged it glows even in daylight, and no problem at night on a deep dive. It took abuse well.

These are nice to look at, but I had bad luck with mine. Not long after the warranty ended I noticed the second hand skipping two seconds. Which is an indicator of it needing a charge. So I placed it in the sunlight. Not a hot location like they warn against. Well, to make a long story short, it didn't charge and eventually died. I took it in for repair and $90 later it worked fine for about a year then died again. Perhaps mine was a lemon. Although the jewelry store I took it to for repair said it wasn't unusual for these Eco's to need repairing. After the repair I followed their re-charging instructions which came back with the watch and still had problems. I see what most folks say about them and I do like the "Idea" but can't risk buying another. I replaced this one with a Seiko Kinetic and it seems to be holding up well. Think I'll stick with Seiko.

I have bought this watch for $[...] and had it for 4 months now. I am a certified diver, and dive-tested this watch on my vacation at Costa Rica, where I did 6 dives ranging from 70 to 120-feet. The watch performed great, I don't know where the other guy is getting that you can't swim in this watch - not true. I did a night dive and the watch looked great in the dark. Before I bought the watch, I only saw the picture of it, not the real thing, so when I received it and got it out of the box I was a little disappointed because the watch was rather big for a wristwatch. It is 15mm thick, and at first it looked a little bulky to me, but I am used to it now and love the blue dial with all the luminous in it. If you have thin wrist this watch might be too big for you. I love that this watch doesn't need the battery replaced every year, my old Citizen dive watch had a battery and I had to pay $65-75 for the battery replacement every 15 months. I agree that no built in depth gauge is necessary, since you have depth gauge anyway that goes with the dive equipment. If you want depth gauge go for Suunto dive computer. In short this is great watch for the price, I would recommend it.

Pros: Inexpensive, Solar Powered, Easy to read face, 5-Year Warranty.

Cons: I am giving it 4 stars because I agree that the bezel spring needs to be tighter, it is very inconvenient, and it moves all the times. Although it is titanium case the watch is still heavy, it is as heavy as my Tag that is stainless steel with stainless steel bracelet. The mineral glass scratches easily, I have 2 scratches in 4 months - one I banged the watch against the doorknob and the other is against the corral reef while diving. I did not have the same issues with sapphire glass on my Tag. Other than that the watch is great and I would definitely recommend it.

Only have had watch for 3 days, but it has met all of my expectations so far and especially for a $243 pricetag. Love all dive watches and having one that doesn't need the battery replaced every year and/or needs winding is great. Decided to buy this one, b/c I currently have a 7 year old eco-drive dress watch that is still running. No matter how long I keep it in the drawer, the daggone thing comes back to life and keeps ticking.

Pros: The titanium case is super light, Solar Powered, Great 5 Year Warranty, price, and Color Scheme.

Cons: At least to me...the bezel spring is not as firm as I would like it to be and I wish that the luminosity would last a tad longer b/c it looks great in the dark!

Anyways, don't expect a rolex...but a definate must have for the avid dive watch collector.

I ordered this watch for a friend while his Breitling is in the shop for service. It arrived very quickly and exactly as described. It's a beautiful, well-made watch that looks good on the wrist. And it never needs a battery! So far, it's keeping better time than my Rado Original Diver watch that costs $1400...

Great watch! Light, very readable, amazing lume and Eco-Drive. Also, screw-down crown for extra protection in water.
