I was looking for something simple .. I have a couple nice leather banded watches I wear at work so I was just looking for a casual shorts and t-shirts watch. I don't need tachymeters or altitude read outs, or alarms, or perpetual calendars....just big, waterproof, easy to read, and low maintenance. Enter the Scuba Fin Eco-Drive. It's big, it's sharp, it's easy to read...in the dark, the hands and hour markers are crystal clear....under water, even more so. As others have written, the band's a little tough out of the gate but it slowly starts to mold to your wrist.. The eco-drive is an added bonus as I have a bad habit of being too lazy to replace the battery once it's done.

I received this watch as a gift, and I was not a watch person. Now I wear it all the time (pun intended?). At first I thought of it as a cheep watch just because of the band, but now that I have been wearing it day in and out, I understand the price tag. Here are my perspectives of the watch. (keep in mind that I am not an expert on watches though i have owned several)

    1. It's big and substantial in weight, it sits above the wrist fairly high, and the face is slightly bigger than a standard watch face. I think this feature is great because it looks better this way, you slightly notice its on(because of its weight, but really not that noticeable just helps me not forget the watch when I take it off somewhere) and I believe that it is more durable because of it.

    2. The band is surprisingly comfortable. Out of the box, the Band is stiff, and not comfortable, three days of constant use, and it began to feel fantastic, I can even sleep with it on now. I am not sure of what the loop is called that the excess band goes through to tuck it away, but it has two of them to ensure that the excess band does not leave the watch. Love the band, love the color.

    3. The hands do actually glow quite vibrantly, the issue is that they have to have been exposed to high amounts of light right before entering darkness to truly glow intensely, but they glow enough that at night, you can turn your head and see the time on your night stand (who needs it brighter than that?)the second hand also glows, but it is so slender you can't really tell right away.

now some of my thoughts on what could be better

    1. the timing bezel is slightly difficult to turn and set, but really not bad at all, you get used to it very quickly.

    2.

First off the watch is good overall. I will break down the rating in detail starting with the good !!

    Good :
    solar powered citizen reliability
    Screw down crown
    Water resistant of 200m
Lume is great ( more details to come ) and nice blue color
    Bezel is crisp
Good movement on uni directional bezel
Watch case is large but not huge
    Comfortable on

    Average :
Lume is great for first 20 mins then fades but is readable for 2-3 hours after charge
Band is very stiff at first but breaks in nicely
Not ISO certified if using for Scuba diving as name describes : Scuba Fin
    Watch face is not sapphire
Second hand does not line up perfect with second markers

    Bad
The date window is very small too small IMHO
The watch face not being domed so will be prone to scratch

Overall good choice few considerations before buying but few things to consider. I would buy again and recommend but watch is not perfect but good for the price !!!

Great watch. Light weight. Stiff band but breaks in fast. I have several citizen watches. This one is just as nice as my others. Not as thick.

    I would purchase again.
    Fast shipping. As promised.

Under 3 months of normal usage (including 2 dives), the stem first stopped working and then broke off all together at which point, water was introduced into the watch movement. The watch was returned to Citizen for what we assumed was warranty work. Turns out that the only thing on the watch that was warrantied was the actual movement. Some $60 later, the watch was returned to us in working order. We found out that the same thing had happened to a friend who had also purchased the watch. A lemon, perhaps??? Citizen's warranty certainly wasn't very good...

My wife brought me this watch for a birthday present. I wanted a diving watch, not so much for diving but one that I could use in the pool and go snorkelling with. I am really pleased with it. It keeps excellent time; it charged within two minutes of taking it out the box and it looks awesome. I've been put off by Citizen in the past because they look cheap and tacky but this is a quality watch in design and looks. It's not to big but looks every bit a diving watch. OK the bezel; don't let other comments put you off. If you want to be that accurate then you need a stopwatch. It is perfectly easy to use and is robust to use and turn. The strap is excellent and after the initial 'newness' has worn off it is very comfortable. The luminous dial is very good and stays readable in the dark for a good 4 hours! I first saw this watch in a Waikiki outlet for $300 more than the price on AMAZON so it is a bargain and you will never have to change the battery. For the cost this is an amazing watch and well worth it.
