Embrace the effortless style that comes with a Citizen Eco-Drive watch. Imaging never having to worry about winding a watch or making sure it has a functional battery. The perfect everyday timepiece that rarely requires your attention, wearing an Eco-Drive allows you to turn your attention to the more important things in life.
Citizen’s Eco-Drive radio-controlled analog world timer, the World Perpetual A-T, features non-reflective sapphire glass while redefining atomic timekeeping with radio-controlled accuracy perfection in North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Japan and China where radio signals are received both automatically and on-demand.
The Citizen StoryThe company was established in 1918. The founding fathers selected the name Citizen so it would be "Close to their Hearts of People Everywhere" and soon after adopted the company's formal name, Citizen Watch Company.
During the last 93 years, Citizen has expanded its business throughout the world and has achieved recognition as a global brand. The past 30 year period has coincided with the company's dramatic rise to its current position as the world's largest watchmaker, a distinction Citizen has held every year since 1986.Beyond sheer size, Citizen is also recognized as a worldwide leader in advanced technology. From the world's slimmest LCD watch to the first voice recognition watch and the world's first professional dive watch with an electric depth sensor, Citizen's record of "world's first" is unmatched.
With models ranging from dress to sport to professional dive watches, Citizen Eco-Drive runs continuously on any kind of natural or artificial light for a lifetime of use. Fueled by light, it never needs a battery. In 2007, Citizen introduced radio-controlled atomic-timekeeping to the Eco-Drive collection, thus developing the most accurate watches in the world.
With the presentation of Eco-Drive Satellite Wave at Baselworld in 2011, Citizen has re-affirmed its position as a worldwide leader in timekeeping technology.
