This is Cope's most coherent musical dispatch yet since vetoing the mainstream record industry in the late-'90s and retreating into his own cyber-haven of maximum creative freedom with all its attendant pitfalls of quality control. By the skin of its teeth, in extra time Citizen Cain'd manages to claim best Cope album in a decade (since 1995's 20 Mothers). double CD rendering of some of the finest music Julian has put forth in a long while,not that ALL of his music isnt worth acquiring......CD 1 is a raw mix of heavy guitar oriented creations while CD 2 takes a step back with more laid back ballad oriented style...awesome is all i can say..his voice is in prime form and his guitar screams with emotion as always.

I bought this as a gift for my son who wanted it, but I have been fortunate enough to hear it because we commute together and play it in the car. I love Julian Cope and I'm 65-years old!

His voice, his music, his band make me happy and bring me out of a funky mood from the office on my way home from work every evening. Thank God for Julian Cope!
