I was really glad I put them aside when making the decision to buy it.

By the way, the jeweler did the strap cutting; they used an exacto knife and a straight edge.

I'm surprised that as clumsy as I am, the watch is holding its own and still looks great!

    Pro:
This watch is absolutely stunning in its design. You could tell that every detail was is precisely placed there for a reason. The features I've seen so far from only having it for 2 hours now are:

    1. Solar Eco-Drive
    2. Atomic Time syncing = never having to adjust your watch time!
    3. Radio Controlled
    4. Dual time as it will tell you your time and the time of another city (43 to be exact)
    5. Glowing dials with LED lights on the digital display
    6. Water resistance up to 200m
    7. Soft polyurethane band
    8. Anti-reflective screen
    9. Citizen's 5 year Warranty!
    10. Some aviation dials and measurements that I don't know how to use!
    11. And there's still more features!

This watch is more than enough for me. All I wanted was something that looked good and could tell time, but you'll get a lot of extra bonuses. This watch comes with a manual that is 119 pages!!! It's two hours in and I'm only on page 22.

    Con:
There are two problems to this watch, 1 small and 1 big.
    1. Small problem - it comes with a 119 page manual
    2. Big problem - to size the band, you have to cut the band. The polyurethane band is not one that you could simply take out links. You have to measure your wrist and it's to cut one link at a time. If you cut too much off, then you'll have to buy a new band! My jeweler and I worked on this band for half an hour to make sure that we get the sizing right! This is the reason why I can only give this watch 4 out of 5 stars. (If you're wondering why I didn't just get the Navihawk A-T with the metal band... it is because I didn't like it. I like this design with the black frame instead of the rose gold frame.)

    Overall:
I still love the watch regardless of cutting the band.

I just got the watch this a.m. and wore it today. The watch is very nice and definitely feature rich, but I offer that may not be a good choice for active men. This afternoon I wore it doing guy things, i.e., moving stuff in the garage and putting up some shelving....AND I got a glancing scratch on the bezel. Nothing deep. I know the non-sapphire crystals are scratch prone (I have four Citizens world atomic watches), but I was stunned to see a scratch in the dark coloration of the bezel! I did not cut myself, and was not carelessly doing guy things, but just moving things around. Clearly, this watch's finish could not take a glancing punch. I will have to be careful and only wear it to Church, or when flying in your plane. If you are a real guy too, be very careful as this is in no way an everyday watch for me. I suggest considering a stainless steel version. I have a black on black stainless steel band atomic world watch that is not scratched, despite some active wear. My Blue Angels wear well, but the crystals are scratched up and some paint is worn off the log-rings. Sadly, I may have to send them in for sapphire crystal upgrades too. I am heading for the black magic marker to touch up the scratch and try to buff it out.

    Verified Purchase
I purchased this watch on Thursday and received it on Friday, BlueDial ROCKS!! BlueDial gets all five stars!
The watch however bearly rubbed out three stars. In short, this watch is ill-conceived, from the strap to the unnecessary bezel design.

I bought this watch soley from photos on internet and the one Amazon review from Huy.
He is right about the strap length, it is a problem. You definitly have commit yourself to the purchase before even wearing it. You will be required to cut the strap, and no matter how well you cut the strap, the strap looks cut... Just like it would if you trimmed some length off your dress tie .. or belt.

The other design flaw is the bezel with finger ridges- it cheapens the look of the watch by standing too tall and painted a gloss black. The big thing- it serves no purpose! The bezel rotates under the crystral and is accomplished by the turning the crown positioned at 8 o'clock.

OK.. you still want the watch? You have to cut the strap!
Make uniterrupted time and space for this! You will need a cutting board, Exacto type razor blade, and a piece of cloth (protect watchface when cutting the strap, because the watch will be moving around face down on the cutting board). I would also suggest peeling off the watch face protector plastic and reapplying it to the watch's back to protect it from the strap clasp scratching the back metal cover while going through the cutting process.

When cutting it strap, cut long. You can always cut off more. I would attach the clasp assy. completly after each time to verify fit. This will take patience. And because of the metal clasp design, you will be required to cut within 1/16th of the pin or the strap will not fit into the clasp.. SO TAKE YOUR TIME AND CUT STRAIGHT!

The other annoyance is I cannot receive the radio signal to sync my watch. I'm in Maryland and the radio transmitter is in Fort Collins, Colorado.

There is a lot of whining about the stock strap that comes with this watch. However, there is a simple solution. Take off the stock strap, and replace it with a black Isofrane strap. You want the 24 mm Isofrane, not the 22 mm. If you are not familiar with the reputation of Isofrane straps, go to any internet forum for watch collectors. For example, ask at the dive watch subforum of the "watchuseek" forum. Or ask at the subforum for Seiko and Citizen watches also at the "watchuseek" forum.

Problem solved. You are welcome. Now stop whining and enjoy an outstanding watch.
