The title suggested an independent view of the life and accomplishments of Senator McCain, which would have been important for the November 4 election. But this is not the case. The book deals entirely with the senator's attempts to get the McCain-Feingold election reform bill passed, which is his major claim to senatorial achievements. The fact that it was a dismal failure and election expenditures have skyrocketed, because of numerous loopholes in the bill, makes it irrelevant.
If one wants to borrow the book from a library that would be fine but it cannot be recommended for purchase. |
