Book Description

February 1, 2002
Citrix MetaFrame XP: Advanced Technical Design Guide is the number one source for relevant technical information about MetaFrame XP, including Feature Release 1. Written from scratch for MetaFrame XP, this book details all aspects of MetaFrame XP environments, including farm design, printing, application installation, security, licensing, NFuse, load management, coexistence with MetaFrame 1.8, and integration with Novell.

This book covers the technical planning, design, and installation of MetaFrame XP. Real world case studies detail actual deployments and situations.

This book is not a re-hash of the Citrix product documentation, and valuable page space is not wasted with pointless screenshots. If you are currently using or planning for MetaFrame XP, do not settle for old information.

Written from years of experience, Citrix MetaFrame XP: Advanced Technical Design Guide tells you what you need to know. It provides you with an objective viewpoint about how Citrix MetaFrame XP really works, and it tackles your tough design problems. Each chapter is written like a white paper, allowing you to dive into your most challenging scenarios first.

"Easy to read, information is well laid out and complete."

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read. Must Have for any Citrix Admin, December 12, 2002
I recieved this book at IForum and when I saw it I was like WHOA! I didn't think I'd find it interesting at all. But as I started reading I was impressed at the amount of usefull information was in the book. This book covers everything you need to know about MetaFrame XP, and how to setup your enviroment. I'm new to the MetaFrame product but with the knowledge I've picked up from this book I can go back to senior management and make recommendations on how to implement a succesfull MetaFrame farm. This is the first technical book I read without skipping chapters. Every chapter is a must read. Job well done Brian.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Citrix MetaFrame XP: Advanced Technical Design Guide (Paperback)
I bought this book to help for a specific problem we were having with NFuse. I only began reading the other chapters after that problem was fixed. One thing that was interesting about this book is that it is full of bulleted lists of advantages and disadvantages for practically all aspects of MetaFrame XP. That made it really easy to decide which options we wanted to use, and why. I also thought that it was interesting that this book didn't waste too much time getting to the point.. It's like each page had tons of information. Honestly, I bought the book because it was the only (non CCA study guide) MetaFrame XP book available, but I think it's excellent and I would highly recommend it to others.
