Rock band that rocks,

So, my brother gives me this CD and says "My friend works with the drummer on this album". So I'm thinking, "quality CD". I listen to it on the way back to Houston (from Austin) and by the time the CD comes to an end, my socks are ROCKED off. The first song (Pining)delivered with powerful vocals, drum beats, and a hard hitting base line. Then they slow it down on the next track. Then they speed it up again with Avalanche. Each song hits at a different speed, but continue to rock. The lyrics border on nonsense, but still seem to paint a picture. I listen to it agian, and again on the way back to Austin for a live show. Choking Ahogo play a few songs from the album (Citrus), but there is new music there. So much new stuff. This band is writing new music and evolving faster than I can keep up with. Soon, I go to live shows and don't recognize a single song. Where is the next album? Seems like there should be four by now.

Choking Ahogo is a hidden gem in the Austin music scene. I can not recommend this album highly enough!
