5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing Better Live, January 29, 2005

I've been listening to Dog Fashion Disco before anyone really caught on, and guys if you are reading this you know there are LOTS of people who have yet to get it. This new release is a live one and its not bad either. Like Mindless Self Indulgence's live album, DFD have managed to make the recording quality perfect...it sounds great. These guys bring all the instruments along. Yes, the sax gets played live too! Flawless playing and good song selection. I was glad to hear Toothless Dream and G Eye Joe from the Embryo album. They cover Nirvana's Breed, DFD's version being superior since I never liked Nirvana. At 74 minutes you wont feel cheated for disc space plus you get a DVD of concert footage and hanging out. While some of the normal conversation and walking around the grocery store was not needed, a lot of it was funny and entertaining especially the concert. You should get their other DVD called DFDVD appropriately. It's Loaded with Evil Entertainment. Drunken fun too. By the way if you play bass they need a bassist again, Brian is gone for some reason. Better call them before some lucky bastard gets the spot. Bottom Line: Dog Fashion Disco are the most original eclectic metal band out there. Good Lyrics and entertaining music. The Mike Patton comparisons end here. Support DFD.

P.S. Come back to FL even though your last show in ST. Pete was lame. I had a good time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Audio, Fair Video, September 14, 2009

The kings of circus-metal do it again, the sound quality is great for a live CD
the video is fair, considering they used 3 or 4 cameras you would think it would be better. The club was small and a little dark, The "day in the life of D.F.D." was o.k., some of it was funny, some was sad, They were such a great band, it's a shame they never made it to that next level. They also don't put all the songs from the CD on the DVD ("9-5 at the morgue" being one of them, one of my favorites). also they released this before "Adultery", so you won't hear any of those songs on it.
To sum it up, If you like D.F.D. It's a must have (I paid $7 for the set, I would have paid more!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Jesus wept..., January 31, 2005
...like Rambo's daughter on her 'First Blood' when heard this fantastic piece of live magical music. DFD have done it again. I never really like live recordings for a number of reasons, but this disc destroys what I hate about most live records...
The sound is very good (production wise), some of the vocals may not come out nearly as clear as a studio , but what do you want? If you know the studio tracks, then you won't mind at all. DFD are keepin' it real, yo!!! Fo Shizzle!!!!! I am lead to believe that they didn't touch this up, much because there is a part when a chick in the audience screams the wrong lyrics in "Valley Girl V-- I think.)
They also changed things up a bit, added a little flavor, incorporated a few surprise bits that worked rather well (I don't want to give anything away... but I laughed out loud w/ glee when I heard at least 4 of the before mentioned parts. Yes, I laughed like Mr. Jackson would laugh if he got his sparkle gloved hand on the key to the dressing room at "Kids R' Us".) Ok, I'll spoil one bit... ...lets just say that they give a musical nod to David Lee Roth, I hope they can produce him enough royalties to buy a new wig or at least a new weave made out of Paris Hilton's old throw-away-because-of-to-many-facials-locks (Just picture a David Lee Roth shower-baby or would it be a dingle-baby.)
I must say that this would be a great starting place for those who are new to DFD. Yet, at the same time it covers there whole catalog & even has songs that are yet to be released in studio form (OK, some of you have them, nit picking pukes).
I would also like to state that I am dying to hear the new songs (Baby Satan, Rat on a Sinking Ship, etc) when they come out. I guess this will hold me over till there next studio album.
Oh, one more thing, there is also a great DVD that comes w/ it. If you are a fan it is worth the price just for that. Hell it's worth the price just to see that goofy dancin' fool ( the guy w/ long hair & the goatee. What a spaz, does he take Jolt Cola via the needle? Is he a part of the road crew, I've seen him in Chicago at shows. Hell I even saw him at a Phantomas show) anyways, what a nut case I saw that guy w/ the Mr.. Bungle shirt Patton is wearing in "Epic" crossing the street in Chicago, dancing like a drunken baby until he came up on a light post then he dry humped it. I take that back it was raining, so I guess it wasn't technically a dry hump (oh, BTW, it was a show at the US Beer Co w/ Tubring & Lolly Pop Lust Kill (sp?).
Buy this now!!!!!!!!
P.S. I fell asleep on the DFD tour RV & woke up castrati!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars you make me laugh, little one..., September 6, 2006
Ha ha ha...what makes me laugh more than watching people contradict themselves and act rediculous, is people who think that they "were into this or that band way before anyone else was.."
That is the most idiotic statement anyone can make. How do you know you were the "first" listener of a band? You don't. You just want to sound "original", "cool" and "all-important". Who cares who heard or knew of a band first? It matters not. You just sound like a pretentious idiot who is on some kind of self-gratifying ego-trip because he was way nerdier than everyone else. It makes me laugh...
