Book Description

August 14, 2001
Kansas City is graced with an abundance of public art astounding in its variety and quality. From the whimsical "Shuttlecocks" to the classical "Thinker," from the "Sky Stations" atop Bartle Hall to the "Bull Wall" outside Kemper Arena, art is all around us, yet seldom do we pause to appreciate its majesty or its humor. City of Art by The Kansas City Star's Tim Janicke, the long-time photo editor of Star Magazine, captures the extraordinary beauty and character of Kansas City's public art with photographs that are themselves works of art.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Book for anyone who loves Kansas City Art!, June 14, 2010
This review is from: City of Art: Kansas City's Public Art (Hardcover)
First, let me start by saying I don't own this book :( It's on my own wish list! However, a doctor's office I frequently visit has it and I head straight for it when I'm in the waiting room. Beautiful photography of Kansas City's Public Art...the fountains, parks,The Plaza, architecture, etc. If you've ever lived in Kansas City and miss the beautiful and historic art-this book is for you. I still live in the area but do not have easy access to many of these beautiful pieces of art..the book takes me there. It is also full of historical and anecdotal information about many of the statues and fountains. Love, love, love this book!
