Review

The Fodor's of baby guides, [City Baby] is ideal for those considering raising the apple of their eyes in the Big Apple. The authors drew Inspiration for the book from their own trials and tribulations as expectant city moms. From choosing a baby formula to selecting your child's first piece of furniture, [the authors] have thoroughly researched each and every source listed.

City Baby addresses every baby query you've ever had and even answers questions you've yet to think about. This book carefully talks you through one of the most important, wonderful and frightening times of your life -- Midtown Resident, Feb. 27 - Mar. 5, 1998

4.0 out of 5 stars Where's the sequel?, October 14, 2000

This review is from: City Baby: A Resource Guide for New York Parents from Pregnancy to Preschool (Paperback)
City Baby is a perfect guide for pregnant women, and I assume for new mothers in NYC as well. My only criticism is that it's been too long since it was published and much of the information is outdated. There are many more resources available and, in the same token, several referenced sources are out of business. Where's the sequel? There's an enormous potential audience; I'd be first in line!

4.0 out of 5 stars The best book for city mothers!, August 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: City Baby: A Resource Guide for New York Parents from Pregnancy to Preschool (Paperback)
I thought this book was a just a guide to shopping for babies and since I hate shopping I skipped it. But when I found myself isolated as a new mother I looked again. This book directed me to the lunches, classes and activities that saved my sanity. Unlike other books of this type, the authors give recommendations based on their own experiences and they are very accurate! And I even found that their shopping advice was needed after all, and I've been able to find what I needed thanks to them!

I saw this book long before I was pregnant--and put it on my "must have" list for the future. Now that I am a mother, I find the book very helpful in finding stores, getting around, and the very helpful suggestions on what to do with my infant. The two authors really researched their topic and it shows. A great resource!
