I purchased this book, a beautifully illustrated treasure, as a souvenir on one of my trips to San Francisco. The illustrations are so incredible--bright, cheerful, detailed and full of life. Each illustration (i.e. Golden Gate Bridge, The Cable Cars and Lombard Street) is accompanied by a brief history and interesting facts. Other sections include an Overview of the city's history, "Fun Facts" about San Francisco and an "Explorer's Guide". The book is both absolutely beautiful and filled with relevant information about exploring San Francisco including telephone numbers for various attractions. I highly recommend this book both for children and adults.

Lovely book packed full with tons of information about beloved San Francisco! The illustrations are very happy and beautiful! It is amazing how much information is in here; more so than most books about SF. I love this book!! :))) Very happy with this purchase!!!

When I was still in elementary school, I would always check out this book during library time. I was always inspired by the written description and the intricately detailed pages of my beloved hometown. Now that I was able to purchase this beautifully made children's book, I think back to my youth and reminisce about the city by the bay.

I like the upbeat nature of the illustrations in this book, but I think they are so busy with detail that the pages can be hard to read. Each page describes a different San Francisco attraction, but I find this book boring compared to other similar books we own.

I ordered this book for some children in Virginia who will be moving to the SF Bay Area. It was shipped directly to them. I just know that it arrived before Christmas (which I didn't even care about, but was a plus).
