Clean Family Movie,
By Rainbows End (MI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: City Boy (DVD)
I checked this movie out from the library for family night. It's nice to see James Brolin again and in a family movie too!
This movie has really good values written into the story. I would recommend it especially for the "Tween-Teen" age group. I would have given it 5 stars accept there are several scenes that prevented it: 1.There's a kind of long but fairly chaste kissing scene at the very end between two adult and two teen characters, the teens get the idea from the example the adults set. As well as a few other small kissing scenes during the movie that are very chaste. 2. There are two death scenes one with blood but no gore and the other of a beloved character. 3. The main character is an amputee and is called a "Gimp" several times in the story. This movie is based on the book Freckles.

This review is from: City Boy (DVD)
I first watched this video 12 years ago and liked it them. A huge fan of clean family entertainment that is more than just fluff this one is. Great message in the movie as well as being fun to watch. I first owned the A Walk in the Wilderness set on VHS. This was a 3 cassette set that dealt with the Limberlost 2 movies and a documentary, they were all great but the whole set did not go to DVD only the two individual movies City Boy and Girl of the Limberlost. I've since also gotten a couple more by Feature Films for Families they are great videos for all ages, if a bit hard to find.
