Excellent peruvian film based on a novel by Mario Vargas Llosa,

"La ciudad y los Perros" is based on the book of Mario Vargas Llosa "La cuidad y los perros" (translated as "The Time of the Hero"). The movie shows common problems in the society, as racism, corruption, etc, in the context of a military high school, in Lima, Peru.
Francisco Lombardi is probably the latin director with more movies and international awards. The book was published in the early 60s and the movie was filmed in the early 80s. It is highly recommended for lovers of latin literature and films.
