The highlight of the Yellow Rose Series,
By A Customer
This review is from: City Girl (A Yellow Rose Trilogy #3) (Paperback)
4.5 stars! Lori Wick has redeemed my faith in her as a writer. I went into this book with a little apprehension after my dissapointment with Texas Sky, but Lori came through with another great book. The spirtual conversations were great in this book and you fall in love with Cash and Reagan right from the start. We also hear about the Dakota and Slater and even find out what happens with the boys parents. This book was definelty the best of the series. If you liked the first two, you will love this one. If you were dissapointed in the first two, you will like this one a lot better.

I could not wait for this book to come out!! I have wanted to know what Lori had in mind for Cash ever since I read the first book. Cash is the perfect gentlman, as all the others Rawlings men were, and Regan is just someone you want in your life, not just in a book you read. This book is great, and if you love Lori Wick as much as I do you, you are in for one of her best!!

Best Wick Book Ever,
By Dimples (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: City Girl (A Yellow Rose Trilogy #3) (Paperback)
I have been reading Lori Wick books since I was 14 and now, 4 years latter I am still adicted to them. City Girl is an amazing book about Reagan's relationships with both God and Cash and Mrs.Wick is very good about keeping God first. All of the male heros in her books are incredible, the type of men you dream of marrying. But Cash is extra special. He is an amazing christian gentleman and a wonderful example of how a man is suppose to be. He is so great that my friends and I refere to our future mate as our 'Cash' and we let the other ones know if the guywe are seeing is our 'Cash.' Thank you Mrs. Wick for helping raise our standards to find wonderful christian husbands!

Pretty Good...,

This book is the final installment in the Yellow Rose Trilogy. It is centered around Cash, the oldest of Rawlings boys. Lori did a good job writing this one, but it didn't grab a hold of me like Every Little Thing About You- the first book in the series. Though I really grew fond of Regan. She was quite spunky and impetuous which I like in a character. If you are a hopeless romantic then this is the book for you.

I did enjoy reading all three books in this series. However, I did find the situation of Reagan "moving in" to Cash's house a little unreal. Especially back in those days, women just didn't do those kinds of things. And no one at the church batted an eyelash! Go figure...

OOPS,it appears I have read the last book in the Texas Rose Trilogy, first,LOL!
I loved this wonderful,'feel-good' romance. The character development was perfect, and I came to love all the characters. There are no villains in this book. I want to commend Lori Wick for drawing the reader's attention to how carefully Cash,a Christian of 5 years, guarded his heart when he realized his feelings for Reagan,a non-Christian,were deepening, because he knew that believers and non-believers are not to be 'unequally yoked' and he put his walk with God first, before his own wants/desires. Something that too few Christians in real life are willing to beware of,and the cause of much heartache and lack of blessings in their 'unequally-yoked' marriages, because of disobedience to what they know, scripture warns against, and putting their own will before God's will. Sometimes non-Christians complain about Christian romance fiction that they think it is too 'Preachy',well warning here, this book is probably not to the taste of such readers. However,as a Christian, this does not bother me in the least, when the story, characters and romance is as well developed as it is in this book. In fact if there are no instances where mention of the character's spiritual walk/struggle/ and blessings are made, along with instances of their talks with God,then I do not feel the characters are true Christians,as this should all be a part of a Christian's daily life. I have lost count of how many times such examples in books have blessed me,and I have had to stop reading, because I was struck by feelings of "yeah, that's our God,or how He works",or I was given a burden to either stop and Praise and thank God,or pray because of similar situations that I know of,or I was given insight into a question I may have had about similar situations(not necessarily tied to anything romantic, just life in general). As a Christian,I love when a book by a Christian author causes me to stop and reflect and spend some time in God's presence, and this book did this more than once for me. I can also understand how non-believers would not feel the same way,nor be affected the same way,and I have also read books by Christian authors that really were not very well written or interesting/engaging stories, and were just a poor excuse to proselytize. I truly feel that 'City Girl' is not in that category. So if a non-Christian reader is looking for a beautifully sweet, well developed romance with delightful characters, and wouldn't mind,or may even be curious about how Christians should conduct their lives, and what our relationship with God and others should be like, you will get a good insight to that with this book.Plus there is no profanity or sexual scenes, just some light sexual tension. I laughed at the reaction by Cash when he and Reagan happen upon the women's lingerie aisle at the store,LOL! Thank you Lori Wick for writing a book that caused me to smile the entire reading, and even a few good laughs, and I was saddened when the book was finished. Now I must read the other two in the trilogy,A Texas Sky and Every Little Thing About You,which are the romances of Cash's brothers Dakota and Slater, and I'm so looking forward to them.

Another great Wick novel,

I love the ability Mrs Wick has to write clean inspiring novels that openly talk about God yet touch on extremely different parts of walking with God, her ability to write on such a wide variety of eras and lifestyles.
City girl was a wonderful relaxing read, leading up the the third book it was interesting wondering what type of girl Cash would end up marrying. Finding Reagen, learning about her, and seeing how God would bring them together was very sweet.

When I first took to reading, I received a vast number of books from many people. But no book seemed to truly take me away into another world than a Lori Wick novel. I have read every novel her creative genious has ever written and I still find myself anxious as to what her pen will write next. I highly recommend her books to anyone. This is coming from the assistant manager in a local bookstore. Lori's books are works of art. Take a look yourself. I have personally read over a thousand books in my life, and Wick still reigns as my favorite author.

In the third and last of the Yellow Rose Triology, City Girl continues the charm of the Rawling's Family Life. Reagan Sullivan decides to leave New York for a job in Texas to broaden her life experiences. Little did she know the different ways she would be touched by this adventure. This book shares the enjoyment of meeting new people and learning about new and different ways people live. It teaches about sacrifice and responsibility and of course love and respect. It is a good read.

I'm not sure why this book is getting thumbs down from other readers. As I often feel with Lori Wick books, you need to pay attention to the characters before you get them confused, but that enhances the mind-building of reading and is good mental exercise. I read this entire book in an evening, and again the next day. It isn't quite Sophie's Heart, but it is a very good book!
