This review is from: City Of Heroes (Paperback)
I was hoping this would be like Kurt Busiek's Astro City series which is a favorite of mine. Unfortuneately it is a mesh of retro comics with a modern take. In my opinion though it falls short of the mark. The characters are your classic justice league/avengers arch types. Though set with modern tones, the dialog often seems like it should be in a 70's comic. The artwork is solid, though sometimes the facial expressions seem off. The writing is just okay, nothing groundbreaking, but nothing terrible either. This is one series I will not continue getting.
