This review is from: City of Joy: The Illustrated Story of the Film (Newmarket Pictorial Moviebook) (Paperback)
Patrick Swayze gave one of his best performances in this movie. His protrayal of Dr. Max Lowe as a man who has shut himself off from people goes to India to try to find himself. He ends up getting involved with a slum clinic and the person who runs it. He also gets involved with a family who lives there. It's very touching and you find yourself rooting for the people. You almost feel like you are a part of this slum community and want for them to have a better life. It is one of my all time favorite movies, you can watch this one over and over.

This is a very beautiful illustrative book. It has wonderful pictures and interesting information. The only reason I don't give it a five star due its price. The book is old and it shouldn't cost more than $10.
