Biography

After the release of his well-received record, the orchestral indie-pop sounds of Window Rolled Down, Jeff Merchant went back into the studio and emerged with a unique, fully produced fifteen-song recording called City Makes No Sound. It's a melodically lush, bright and dark, richly bold, eclectic pop feast that you won't easily forget.

With nearly a CD and a half of material fitting on one disc,… Read more in Amazon's Jeff Merchant Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Good work, October 15, 2009

This review is from: City Makes No Sound (Audio CD)
Overall: another good one.

Favorite songs in order:

1) Love Yourself Away: I believe this is your hit from the CD. The 60's vibe on it and drum work is exceptional. I really like it. You should try to push it for some 60's based movie. It would fit very well.

2) Eggshell: very well done, and produced. I like how everything lays out and develops. The melody is soothing and clever and fits well with the lyrics.

3) Universal Touch: This song took the place of Seeing Waterfalls as I listened a few more times. I especially like the organ on it. Complements the song well.

4) Seeing Waterfalls: This is a great opening song for the CD. It kind of gives a mood on what you will hear later. Nicely done.

5) Crazy Ship: One of my favorites. I believe it deserves to be heard.

I'm only letting you know my favorite 5, the rest of the CD is good too. Good work.
