4.0 out of 5 stars Good deal., March 24, 2008

This review is from: City Rockers Singles 1-23 (Audio CD)
Ran into a mashup of Sunglasses and Blue Monday (Blue Sunglasses by Tiga & Zytherius) through Pandora, and couldn't find it anywhere else. The CD was $5. I would have been happy with that price for just the one song, since I liked it so much, but it turns out there's a lot of good electronica to be discovered on this album. I haven't listend to the whole album yet, but Daniel Diamond: Champu, The Riot Society: Understand Me, Dr. Kucho: La Luna, and FC Kahuna: Hayling are the other ones I've randomly run into that I'd give a 4 out 5 rating or higher. There's a number of them with a Daft Punk/House feel to them which I happen to like.

2 disks of random good electronica for $5 is a pretty good deal in my estimation.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Double Cd, Featuring the majority of 'City Rockers' hits.., October 28, 2003
A compilation of the output of the `City Rockers' label, having to double effect of promoting the label, and compiling some of their best singles in one tidy package. Felix Da Housecat starts the proceeding with his incredibly slinkly "Silver Screen Shower Scene" which sets the tone for the rest of this compilation perfectly, stylish, Playful & audibly superb, Felix actually contributes several tracks on this compilation all of them fantastic. `Tom Middleton' provides one of the biggest highlights, with his re-edit of "Tiga's - Blue Sunglasses" which is already a dance favourite, before ¾ of the way into the track before breaking it down, and sublimely mixing in an edited version of "New Order's - Blue Monday"...Utterly jaw Dropping. But the best is saved for last, and this track (for me personally) just pips `Tom Middleton's' effort......is a `Super Furry Animals' remix of "FC Kahuna's - Hayling" which if you're familiar with the Super Furry Animals, can only be expected is a Spaced out Psychedelic Warped reinterpretation of FC Kahuna's superb track, with organs, horns, Beach boy-ish harmonies & the kitchen sink thrown at the track, which threatens to buckle under the sheer weight of ideas throw at it....but amazingly pulls it off to breathtaking effect.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great compilation, but be careful, July 23, 2003
By A Customer
Great compilation, however, the Tiga remix of FC Kahuna's "Machine Says Yes" was missing from my copy. I am not sure if this is a manufacturing flaw, or if it was just this copy. So, listen before buying this if possible to make sure you have all the tracks on it.
