This is a fine book for baseball fans!I took a good swing at City 'Scapes, topped the ball and was easily out at first. Actually, it was during warm-ups. The book's well-written, of course; you're a pro and it shows. But as a narrative I had trouble with it, and I think the problem for me is a simple one: I fade away during all that dialoguie. Also, I think you could fine-tune your diaglogue a little. Maybe "read" it to yourself and "listen" to it. It's wooden in many places. But I hasten to add, I may be the wrong person for this book. Baseball bores hell outa me. Fans are. . . strange. ... |
