This was a wonderful way to explore London with kids. The tips they gave us at the different museums were perfect! We wouldn't have known about kid-guides, etc. at these places without these cards. Best part is we only took the cards that we were interested in. Very easy to pack. They are essentially the size of an index card. You just thrown the one you want to use in your back pocket & your good! LOVED this guide!!!! Will definitely buy for friends & family & for other places as we go!!!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: City Walks with Kids: London: 50 Adventures on Foot (Cards)
In a few weeks, we'll be making our third visit to London in 5 years. I've bought basically every book about "Take Your Kids To London", "England w/ Kids", "Things to do in London", etc, that's been published since 2004 (we'd hoped to visit earlier than we actually got there...and I have an amazon dependency problem...).
Last night, I started to read these cards. Just to acquaint myself w/ the info contained here. It's from 2009, after all. We were there the year before. What could be different? After card 15, I was amazed. Of all the books, all the websites, all the experiences we've shared...these cards present them as simply, as starkly, more helpfully than any resource I've encountered before. I wish they'd been available for our earlier visits to London. If you buy only one resource for taking kids to London, within the next year or two (assuming that things will alter significantly around/after the 2012 Olympics), I cannot recommend this one highly enough. I wish it had been available for our first trip, updated for subsequent trips; hope it'll be frequently updated in the future, and expanded to include all of the UK (like visiting Lyme Regis for fossil hunting - unforgettable!). And if the authors/publishers keep this collection current, you will not need any other Kids/Family resource for visiting London. Cross-reference admission hours/cost, and places to stay, on the web, and you will be ready to go. |
