I've been searching a long time for a book like this and have already used it as inspiration for three weekend getaways. As far as I'm concerned, I can now seriously ditch my other NY guidebooks. This is the only one I need. The author's depth of research is impressive, and the book is jam-packed with helpful info on fun and sometimes off-the-beaten-path activities. Who knew you could go fly fishing so close to home? More importantly, the itineraries are budget-friendly, whether you're looking for something romantic, kid-oriented, or simply a peaceful weekend away to recharge your batteries.

I bought this book for a friend and she loves it. If you're looking for weekend escapes and getaways I think this book is a good starting point.

The book gave me lots of ideas for excursions to take with our kids or a get-a-way for just my husband and me. It's a great guide whether you live in NYC or are visiting. I'm looking forward to taking some weekend getaways!

Great book for busy New Yorkers who value there down time. Very informative. I am excited to start trying out some of her suggestions.

This book has a ton of great ideas, from spas to parks to romantic getaways. There are two parts, one about things to do in the city, and one about things to do outside the city. I've lived in NYC for a long time, but definitely got a lot of ideas from reading this book. I also gave it to a friend who is new to NYC, and he can't put it down.

I never write reviews for books I buy. However, I was blown away by City Weekends. I got it for my wife so that we could plan some great trips. I never know where to go and always end up at the same places. This book showed me so many cool places that I had never heard of before.

Who knew there was a real rodeo in New Jersey? Who knew there were a bunch of drive-in movie theaters right outside of New York City?

Thanks to this book, I have all of my vacations planned for the whole summer. The trips look like lots of fun and are really affordable. We have a bunch of weekends booked and do not have to pay for a single airplane flight.
