I was very fortunate to be able to participate in the 'sneak peak' of City of Steam a few months back and while I wont go into details of the game itself other than I found it to be an amazing mmo game even being in pre-alpha stage. Now for the review of the soundtrack...from the first track to the last track I was transported back to my, all to brief, time in the City of Steam game; imho the artist has captured the essence of the game. Not since the Age of Conan soundtrack, which I felt was another amazing soundtrack for an mmo game, have I felt that a mmorpg soundtrack is powerful enough to stand on it's own. Too often, tracks that are selected for an mmorpg soundtrack/album are subdued in comparison to their game counterpart(wow:bc/wotlk, sw:tor; tho a few tracks in wotlk were awesome, overall the album was a letdown), which they are trying to aid the players by immersion into the game world. And just like the Age of Conan soundtrack, the City of Steam soundtrack rises above it's video game music origin and becomes a beautiful work of art.
