4.0 out of 5 stars Dreamy, Hooky Electronica In Spanish, October 12, 2003
By
This review is from: Ciudadlluvia (Audio CD)
This group from Mexico crafts exquisite electro-pop and trip-hop that -- with its female vocals over sleekly funky rhythms -- harkens back to the '90s and the glory days of Olive, Morceeba and the like. Probably the closest equivalent today is Telepopmusik or maybe the Bebel Gilberto remix disc. Though sometimes Alma Velasco's vocals are a little too baby-girl and a couple of the tracks end too abruptly (the closing "Nadie" begs for a longer remix), overall this is a strong album if you like the genre in which they're working.

I listen to this when I'm driving home on a friday after work and it is really relaxing. Tanias Voice sounds gentle, sudle and very relaxing. This record is definetly up there on its ranks.
I recomend it for those ppl who like relaxing music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great and rare find, March 16, 2009

I've came across the music video "Tanja" a long time ago, and i liked it a lot. Later on i heard 2 other songs from this album. I had to get this album. It's really sad they don't make it anymore and it's quite hard to get in the US. This is soft-electronic latino music, but it's not really able to categorize because it's just anything you never heard before. It will soothe you in the most aggresive situations and happy when you are sad. This is the cure for emos around the world and a must for any diverse music lover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD, December 7, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Ciudadlluvia (Audio CD)
I first hear of Fase when I was in Mexico this summer, and when it was finally released in the US, I vowed I would buy it before the year ended. I finally bought it last night and I listened to it, and it was better than I expected. The music is not like anything I had listened to in Spanish (the closest this comes to is Kinky and Plastelina Mosh). The only drawback is that Alma's voice is not great, but she carries the songs well enough that it does not really matter. If you like electronic music, buy this one.
