1.0 out of 5 stars Thumbs down, August 14, 2004

This book is very poorly written. There are many typographical errors throughout the book and many, many inaccuracies in the content. Some terms are used incorrectly and instead of assisting the reader in learning civil litigation, it creates confustion and frustration.

I would not recommend this book to anyone - especially students.

I hope the new edition is worth the paper it's written on.

1.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS THE PITTS, December 11, 2007
This book is by far one of the worst collegiate books I have had to buy for a class. It is vague, and it gives about the worst examples ever. You would think that for the amount of Money you have to shell out the book it would be the best thing on the planet, but it's not. West Publishing Company should look to publish a supplement with this book as the formats on all the documents I had to prepare for my civil litigation class taken from this book were wrong. Nothing I did for class that came out of this book was correct so I had to wind up using the internet for most of my research. BUYER BEWARE! THIS BOOK ABSOLUTELY SUCKS AND IS NOT WORTH THE $120 YOU HAVE TO SHELL OUT FOR A NEW COPY. SO IF YOU HAVE TO USE THIS BOOK FOR CLASS GET IT CHEAP OR YOU'LL BE SADLY DISAPPOINTED.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great source of info, March 20, 2001

For all those up and comming law studients, this is a great information source. Step by step, the steps of the litigation process are illustrated. In addition, it is written in such a way that even a person with no legal background (like myself) can understand it. I highly recomend this book.
