The Civil War in the battleground state., October 28, 2006
This review is from: The Civil War: Virginia (Hardcover)
Prior to the Civil War, Virginia encompassed both Virginia and West Virginia. It was one of the largest states in the Union, and contributed many of the statesmen and soldiers of the United States. When Virginia succeeded from the United States, it became the main background of the Civil War. Its capital Richmond was the capital of the Confederacy. It was the one of the main components of the CSA.
Hearn guides us through the history of the Civil War Virginia. All of the important battles are covered, along with West Virginia breaking away from Virginia. No new information is covered in this book. The pictures however are great, and this would be a good reason to purchase this book.
