Modern Day Smiths,

The reason why some might say they sound similar to the Killers is that they are both influenced by the original and greatest (imo) Alternative Pop-rock group of them all The Smiths. I find Boy Kill Boy to be even more similar to The Smiths. Some of the lead vocals sound very Morrissey-esque. This is what the modern day Smiths might sound like if they were together, minus Johnny Marr's masterful guitar and Morrissey's melancholy and cynical lyrics (BIG minuses).

Boy Kill Boy ought to be played on commercial alternative radio (KROQ) and why they're virtually ignored stateside is beyond me. I'd take any of these gems to 70% of the garbage I'm subjected to. Great album. Great melodies. Read the other posts above mine. These. Guys. Rock.
...heh, and in my opinion, "Suzie" is one of the weaker album tracks (and single.) Go check out "Civil Sin" and hit me back.

Boy Kill Boy will easily win their way into the hearts of Britpop lovers around the world. Their music is upbeat and excellent for dancing with friends. Fans of Kaiser Chiefs will take to Boy Kill Boy rather well. Chris's voice is very similar to Ricky's. I saw Boy Kill Boy perform a couple of month's ago and fell in love with them immediately. I couldn't wait for their album to be released in the States. They have a growing calling in Europe, and it always takes US a bit longer to catch on to British bands, but I think indie children will adore Boy Kill Boy.

This band sounds absolutely nothing like The Killers. Perhaps they could share a bill together but not much more than that. At times they may sound like a louder, fuller Communique (esp. Suzie) and they definitely share characteristics with all the Brit Rock that's big now, i.e. Franz Ferdinand. But why so many people think they're a Killers rip-off is just completely beyond me. The album definitely loses steam toward the end, but it's all-around very good.

I love this album. I listen to it often and it never gets old. If you enjoy music influenced by the 80s but modern, these guys are for you. The songs are very catchy, and the singer has a unique voice that works very well for the songs. It's a shame that they broke up before I got to see them live.

This is energy-filled-fun-in-your-face music for young folks. If you are cynical and old or uptight, this is not for you! The moment i started listning to these songs, i fell in loooove. They replaced my then favorites phoenix right away. Too bad they are struggling with grumpy producers. I would love to see them make more music and be successful. We need more of this kind of music, enough of the sad music, you whiney world!

...approximately two and a half years ago this band were given the gift of having radio overplay of one of their songs on English radio...that song was "Suzie"...with simple rising guitar sequences and a very memorable chorus...the band were bound to have success with the single with many plays on trendy late night music shows around England their new album was inevitable to sell to an average point...and what more could reflect the talent in this CD?
...it is very very very average...I thought I had passed the point when there were bands that would just be reliant on their singles and for the rest of the album to be filler...but no...it's all hear with plenty of it to wade through...so this is a warning...if you are buying this for the singles then yes they are all there in their mighty glory...but the rest of the album is mere fodder...and unless you can cope with fodder then I'd recommend sticking to the singles you've downloaded already... ...such a sad state mainstream indie has been in for some time...oh dear...that's what you get when you mix fire with water...

I can't believe this band isn't more popular. I would even go as far to say that I don't understand why they aren't more popular than the killers. Now, I know why, we all do, but I just don't understand why. They play synth-pop better than anybody, they rock, they ballad, they sound like naturals and honest blokes. Why aren't they more popular? I guess it may have to do with the fact the vocals sound Australian and us Americans prefer our pop music to sound as if it could come from our native land, but doesn't (as in the case of Thom Yorke and Radiohead) so that we can mimick it and claim it. I haven't heard anything recently that approaches the energy and quality of music they bring to the table. An obvious mentor to them is Depeche Mode although these guys don't get to so down on themselves as Dave and Martin do. I wholeheartedly recommend this.
