We have had an extremely wet spring in Colorado. Before I went on vacation, I tested the unit. The water would not come on when it was filled but it did after I emptied it. Since it had been raining, I filled it with water before I left on vacation. When I returned part of my lawn was brown but I think I just need to increase the watering time for that zone. When purchased with the Aqua Due, it was quite an expense, but reliability is worth the price. Eventually the cost of the water saved may equal the cost of the sensor.

Installation wasn't too fun since the cord is much too short! The sensor needs to be mounted in an unobstructured area for rain, obviously, so it's likely you need to place it on the roof or other high structure. But the cord isn't that long enough enough for a one-story low ceiling mount! I had to add my own wire which was unnecesarily complicated. Manufacturer should've included more cord or at least have left the wires bare with quick twist on plugs at the end. Anyway, seems to work so far.

When coupled with the Claber timer the rain sensor allows me to judiciously water my garden. Extremely easy to install, just remove the jumper from the the timer and insert the sensor cable. A quality product. I'm also a fan of dripdepot.com for supplies.

If you've bought your claber duplo YOU MUST have this rain sensor. It is amazing how easy to install and how it works.
It helps you in saving many $$$ in water and electricity (in case you are using a bomb to get water pressure)
