The earrings were realy nice. I purchased them as a gift for a friend. They arrived in a timely manner and were exactly what was advertised. I wish there had been a set with a necklace because I would have bought that as well. Looking for one was too much trouble for the quick purchase I was going for. I will definitely purchase items from this seller again.

The heart symbolizes love, the hands friendship, and the crown fidelity. The story: The romantic story of the mystical and beautiful Claddagh symbol began over 300yrs ago, in the ancient fishing village of Claddagh, just outside the walls of Galway, on the W coast of Ireland. Legend tells us a fishing boat from the village was captured by pirates and the crew taken and sold as slaves. One of the crew Richard Joyce was sold to a Turkish Gold Smith. During his captive years never forgetting his love back home, he made a ring of gold for her. After many years Richard eventually earned his freedom and returned to Claddagh. To his great joy he found his love who never given up hope of seeing him again. He gave her a ring and they were married never to be seperated. The tradition: If worn on the right hand, crown turned inwards, your heart is yet to be occupied. If worn on the right hand, crown turned outwards, shows a special commitment to someone. If worn on the left hand, crown turned outwards, let out love and friendship reign forever, never to be seperated.

I know the traditional piece is a ring, but this little history lessen will show you just how powerful of a symbol the Claddagh is. I bought this for my love, and she was estatic when they arrived. I truely recommend this for anyone to buy for someone special, friend or a love. It is something that can never be forgetten, long after the jewlery has rusted away.

Very pretty earrings, nice weight but does not pull on the earlobe. Silky smooth, catches the eye as they gently sway with movement but not too long, even came with stoppers to prevent from loosing. Gave as a gift, thinking about a pair for myself! Would definitely recommend, speedy delivery, would not hesitate to order from this company again. Q for quality G for great price, the only problem I had was that I needed a box to present them as a gift.
