5.0 out of 5 stars Five Bookmarks from Wild on Books!, January 4, 2010
This review is from: Claimed by the Wolf: A Shadow Guardians Novel (Shadow Guardians Novels) (Paperback)
Sybil is a witch - just not a very good one. She doesn't know of any spells or magical recipes that she can use to better herself in the eyes of her coven. Stopping at a yard sale, she comes across a very old book and instantly buys it and takes it home with her hoping to find something in it that will help her become a more proficient witch. Sybil begins reading one of the spells and unknowingly opens a gate in the Shadow Realm inadvertently releasing demons into the world. Begging the goddess for forgiveness, Sybil is taken by Kenrick, a Shadow Guardian, to the realm where he and four other shadow guardians maintain order by controlling the gates to the demon world.

Unsure of why she has been taken to the shadow world, Sybil is confused but soon learns that the goddess has decided to take pity of her for her ignorance and in doing so gives Sybil her duties - she is to stay with the five Shadow Guardians and help close the gate she opened. To do this, she must become a warrior like the five men - only her initiation is a bit different. To stay in their realm and become a Shadow Guardian, Sybil must complete the ritual to prove her worthiness in the eyes of the five men. The ritual includes spending twenty four hours with each man doing anything required of her, including sex. Something that Sybil doesn't think she will have any trouble with but has no idea what to expect. Falling in love wouldn't be wise - especially now but Sybil's heart thinks otherwise and Kenrick is the man she wants above all the others. He seems to feel the same but he refuses to trust Sybil after having been deceived by a traitorous witch many millennia ago.

At first I was uncertain that Sybil would be able to keep her part of the bargain that she made with Inanna, the goddess. How many women would be able to keep up with five men? Well, it seems that Sybil is an extraordinary woman. She is strong, smart, and while afraid at times, she puts her best foot forward and in doing so, finds different things about each of the Shadow Guardians she spends time with to love. The men in turn, treat her respectfully but not with kid gloves. They are demanding, highly sexual, and each man has a totally different personality with various quirks added in to make even the coldest woman capitulate to their charms. Kenrick, however, is the Shadow Guardian that stood out for me. He is often snarly, is very alpha, and his trust level concerning Sybil is below zero. I enjoyed watching this primal man begin to fall in love - his confusion over his feelings for Sybil were realistic and very down to earth. His admitting he loved Sybil made me laugh in delight at how the mighty fall.

If hot sex with five sexy men is your idea of a fabulous book then CLAIMED BY THE WOLF is the book for you. Charlene Teglia has written an extremely erotic, sensual, and devilishly sexy novel with CLAIMED BY THE WOLF. The love scenes scorched the pages more than once but most of all, the plot was engaging and believable. Once again Ms. Teglia comes through with a superb story that I have had to read more than once. With one warrior succumbing to love, I can't wait to see what happens to the four men left!

4.0 out of 5 stars heated paranormal romantic suspense, December 9, 2009
This review is from: Claimed by the Wolf: A Shadow Guardians Novel (Shadow Guardians Novels) (Paperback)
Millenia ago long before the Sumerians existed, werewolves, dragons, vampires, witches, a rebellions demon tribe and the Sidhe fought against the demon and were evenly matched until the witches betrayed their cause by changing sides and allying with the demons. All the supernatural species in the battle died except the leaders of each species who pledged their lives and allegiance to the warrior and sexual goddess Inanna. They became her mark, giving them powers and become known as the Shadow Guardians who guard the portals so the demons don't enter this world and those that do are forcibly thrown back to their own realm.

The apprentice witch Sybil brought a Book of Shadows at a sale only to find out it contained demonic magic that entered her body. The Shadow Guardian Kenrick the alpha werewolf explains what happened especially since she asked for help of Inanna to get the demon magic out of her. Her plea makes her a Shadow Guardian as she now wears the mark of Inanna Part of the ritual is sex with each of the five Guardians who test her trust worthiness; she passes the exam, but Kenrick is the one she desires and he wants her as his mate. However, the betrayal though so many millennia ago still lingers in his bone marrow and he distrusts her.

This heated paranormal romantic suspense starring five alpha males and one female who has sex with each of them and in all sorts of combinations. Obviously sex rules the story line as Sybil bewitches four of her teammates while the one she loves who claims her as his expects her to deceive them. Although the libido to the nth power makes the supernatural seem real while dominating the somewhat thin story line, fans who relish the heat will want to read this romantic urban fantasy.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the better Teglia books I've read, April 29, 2010

This review is from: Claimed by the Wolf: A Shadow Guardians Novel (Shadow Guardians Novels) (Paperback)
This was my third Teglia book I've read, I enjoyed it more than others. The sex scenes are really well written, however, I personally don't really enjoy reading about anal-play, but the author seems to enjoy it A LOT.

I loved the paranormal aspects of the characters, what's not to like about a werewolf (knot and all-lol), a dragon (spiked unit and a tail), vampire, fey, and demon.

Once again, Charlene, please PLEASE give your characters some depth!

The 2nd book I purchased from this author. A very big disappointment. I have no idea what point the author was attempting to convey to the reader. The characters had a brief (if any) developmental stage. Absolutely nothing to hold on to. The scenarios abruptly began, contained rambling exchanges, with ridiculous sexual interactions. The book made no sense. I got the feeling the author was attempting to shock the reader with her explicit sexual exchanges, yet soften the shock by explaining that these sexual experiences were just hidden desires we all needed to experience, and accept as the norm. I am in no way a prude. However, after realizing this book contained no solid storyline, the prolific sex actually became sadly humorous. Definitely not worth purchasing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Way Too Unbelievable!, May 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I guess I have a problem with one mortal woman for FIVE immortal guys, and although one claims her as his mate- eventually- he has no problem sharing her with the others on their own. Huh? There is no mention of food, or eating, or normal living functions, or any other beings but the six of them and some demons, until she destroys her old coven, and later when she tries to go back to her old life for a day or two. Huh? They walk around naked, having sex in one-on-one, and menages ALL THE TIME and she never is too sore or hurt to have to take a few days break, or seems to have a problem with this lifestyle either. She just takes their word for everything, never gets down or worries or misses her old life and friends, and she goes along with everything with the attitude of, "What choice do I have? I caused this.". Again, HUH?!?! I realize that eventually she becomes immortal like them but until then,..... REALLY???? The whole book is about her having sex with each guy as they pass her along to the next in order to fix the mess she- supposedly- made accidentally, with a little plot thrown in at the beginning and end. The only good thing I found with this book is that Sybil had some really good one-liners occasionally! I literally laughed out loud at a few of them. If you can borrow this book- enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars HOT!!!!!!!, February 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Claimed by the Wolf: A Shadow Guardians Novel (Shadow Guardians Novels) (Paperback)
WHEW!!! This one had me blushing basically through the entire book. The plot was simple, quite uncomplicated considering the dangers surrounding it. But the guardians are all HOT!!!!!!!!!!! I must tip my hat to Sybil because I know I could not have handled all five of these guys on my best juggling days! LOL

The only reason I give this one 3 stars is because it just doesn't sit well with me if a man claims a woman for his mate, for him to be okay, more than okay, with his fellow Brothers sharing her equally. Although hot and obviously all of them cared a great deal for Sybil, even treated her as their treasured Queen, it still seems just degrading to be shared in this capacity when a commitment has been established.

Plus I was a bit smitten not with Kenric (the alpha wolf) but with Kadar (the dragon) dude was FINE!! If you are looking for an erotic read with a bit of suspense, then I would recommend this read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sex, sex & more sex.....lol..., February 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I read the sample & thought - sounds good, but it was a so-so story. It has lots of sex but sex without much of an interesting story gets old really quick. So if you want to read sex scenes with multiple partners in multiple positions then read it but don't except much in the way of a plot or in-depth characters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of sex, little.......plot?, October 31, 2010

This review is from: Claimed by the Wolf: A Shadow Guardians Novel (Shadow Guardians Novels) (Paperback)
It's hard to write a review on a Hrq book. I mean you know the theme of these book is all about sex, sex and more sex. Even multiple partner sex. So how do you differentiate? For me I liked how she incorporated all the supernatural characters together. You have a werewolf, a vampire, a demon, a dragon, and a faerie, whom by the way are all HAWT, working together as brothers to defend the gateways into the world from evil demons. Which by the way an innocent witch opens and of coarse forces her path to cross with these guys. The plot is sparse but I kinda like the imagination it's got going.
