A beautiful romance,

I bought this book after I found out Kinley MacGregor is also Sherrilyn Kenyon. Just like with her paranormals, she brings something fresh to a staid, boring formula. I love the way this author's mind works. They way she brings the past to life and can blend it with humor and real emotions.Braden is a welcomed relief from the alpha jerk hero who has to prove himself. He is a man in tune with his strengths and his weaknesses and I love the way he was able to allow the heroine to grow and discover herself. He was a real hero. Maggie really touched me. At times I saw myself in her and I could relate to her wanting to save her family. She was a great heroine for Braden without being bitchy or whiney. The secondary characters are some of the best I've seen. I like the way they weren't background to the story, but were real people who helped bring everything together. Now I'm off to track down more of Macgregor/Kenyon's books. I can't wait to read them.

I have to run out and get my ticket to Scotland right now. Need to claim me a highlander!! Kinley MacGregor has written a wonderful tale. Claiming the Highlander tells the story Maggie, who decides that enough is enough. The feud with a neighboring clan has to stop...now. So she enlists the women in her battle against the highland warriors. But what weapon do mere women yield...why the mightiest one of all....simply saying "NO" Well the highlanders are outraged, who do these women think they are!!! But the women stand firm...so the men resort to their best hope to sway the women back home. Sparks fly when Braden and Maggie meet, and it's electric. In addition to Maggie and Braden, Claiming the Highlander contains wonderful secondary characters...namely Bradens brothers Ewan, Lochlan and Sin (ooo baby!).

I'd really give this 4 1/2 stars. Kinley McGregor's books are always fast-paced, funny, and enjoyable to read. No exception here. With a similar (but better developed) story to Quinn's "Romancing Mr Bridgerton", it's the story of the plain jane (Maggie) who has loved the handsome charmer (Braden) all her life but has never been noticed by him. Until now. Events throw these two together and both are forced to see the other in a new light - with the help of the darkly charming and sarcastic Sin. I'm sure he will be the subject of the next book and I look forward to it - he's yummy! And I hope that by the time Lochlan gets his story he will be a stronger laird! How could he lose control of his clan so easily? But I digress.Braden and Maggie are fun and likable. He happily flirts with and charms every woman he meets never interested in anything long term. He has seen that love can hurt and destroy as evidenced by two of his brothers fighting over a woman with tragic consequences. He also vows never to take a wife after seeing his mother's rejection of his half brother Sin as a child. Maggie has worshipped Braden since she was a child. He seemed to always come to her rescue and has always been kind to her but never saw her as anything more than his best friend's kid sister. But now she is a woman and has taken action that causes Braden to see her as such. She is no longer the gangly young girl - she has developed a uniquely earthy beauty that Braden notices for the first time. He is attracted to her, but this is Maggie - a woman he likes and respects - surely had cannot desire her too! It unnerves him for he can't fall in love - and certainly not with someone he cares about - can he? And Sin challenges Maggie to see past Braden's looks and reputation. Does she truly love the man underneath or does she simply want his attentions just as all the other women do? Two sweet people who belong together. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the rest of the series.

This is a fun story that shows KM's humor at it's best. Maggie (the herorine) has banded together the women of her and a waring clan to put a stop to the needless violence of the clan fueding. She has lost one to many brothers and family members to the fued as have many of the others in the clan. Well she gets all the women together and they decide to withhold both their cooking skills as well as their other "favors". Maggie also gets the clan women from the other clan to do the same for the men in their clan. They had hoped that it would last only for a few days but the men are just as stubborn as they are and it is now weeks and tempers are flying....In comes the hero - Branden who decided that his childhood friend Maggie can be won over by his good looks and charms as have all of the women with whom he has ever crossed paths with. But, when he goes inside he sees Maggie a bit different than in the past. Not only that but Maggie has loved him for years and is sure that she will crumble under his onslot... Add in a few brewding brothers (Sin, Ewen, Lochland) and hang on for the ride. If you like highland stories this one is a must!

After reading Master of Desire and Master of Seduction i couldn't wait to see what she would come up with next, and i was not disapointed. As soon as i saw the book on the shelf i didn't even have to see the back i bought it. This book was wonderful, the characters are very real and well written. I loved the chemistry between Braden and Maggie. I have read alot, and i mean a lot of books and mostly i can always tell who is the bad guy and how it will end. This one i couldn't. I read this book in one sitting and wished i had another. Kinley MacGregor, i can't wait for the next one. I have my heart set on Sin :)

This book was absolutley wonderful. This series is turning out to be another wonderful one for me! I cant wait to continue to read about all of the Mcallisters. The whole family has a great story, filled with everything that we love. Braden and Maggie were beautiful together. I loved how they knew each other so well. The memories that they had of each other over the years warmed my heart, and the love that Braden felt for Maggie was heartwrenching at times, and funny at others. I especially liked the part that Braden's brother, Sin, played in being a matchmaker of sorts. This book had me laughing and crying all at the same time! I am going to buy all of Kinley Macgregor's books that I can get my hands on!!!

This is the first book that I have read written by Kinley MacGregor and I can assure you it won't be the last. It was great! Maggie was one female character that an everyday woman could relate with and Braden was one male character an everday woman DREAMS of. No usless scenes that lost my attention here. Great love scenes...I want Sin now!!

Another winner,

I picked up all of Kinley's books after reading her Fantasy Lover as Sherrilyn Kenyon and I haven't found a bad book yet. Braden and Maggie were delightful and funny. As is her trademark, the book is hot, hot, hot. I love her sex scenes and the fact that the characters really care about each other. What I liked most is that this book is very different from other Scottish set historicals. Braden and Maggie work together and aren't always fighting over misunderstandings. A great book! I can't wait to read the next one. I hope it's Sin's. He deserves a happy ending of his own.

I just started reading this author and have enjoyed everything I've read so far. This book had me laughing out loud. The dialogue between the two main characters is hilarious throughout the book. It's never too sappy and the characters get their point accross without too much repeating. It's a keeper!

I'd heard from my reader's loop about Kinley MacGregor and bought both Claiming the Highlander and Born in Sin together. I have to admit I didn't care for Braden at first. The opening chapter threw me a bit and I didn't think he'd be a good hero, but the readers on my loop told me to hang in there and I'm so glad I did. He is an arrogant cuss and I laughed as Maggie gave him his due. She was a great heroine as she led him on a merry chase. She had his number and called him on it every time. I laughed all the way through it, especially at Maggie's shoes and the scene with her legs. Priceless. There were so many warm, tender moments. I can easily see why these two hooked up. I can't wait to read more of Kinley's novels.
