Something To Hide,

I have read this story before. In fact it is part of a series and I keep a list of books I have read and can not find it under same author or title. It seems like the author changed her name or title. This is frustrating because I feel I paid for book twice. The story is great. I enjoyed Alison's dedication to her sister and ability to not let anything stop her from finding her. I enjoyed how she worked through Travis's hard shell to allow him to heal from his past and learn to love again. I enjoyed Travis' family. They all seemed like wonderful people and fun to hang out with.

Ragged Rainbows: Now, I genuinely respect Linda Lael Miller and find her novels to be very enjoyable, however it is quite obvious that this is one of her earlier ones, written long before her writing talent and style were polished. So many elements of this story had great potential, if only they had been developed more fully. And then the ending dragged on about 75 pages too long, with the couple pushing each other away for all kinds of unnecessarily ridiculous reasons, rather than confronting and resolving their issue. A nice story, but definitely substandard.
Something To Hide: This story held my interest better than the first story did, and it was just the right length. It had an interesting wilderness adventure setting, and an easy-to-relate to plot about young adult children struggling for independence against controlling parents. Again, the hero was very stubborn and ran away from his issues which was very frustrating and unrealistic because they could have easily been resolved with better developed communication and dialogue.

This was the first of a series by the author. Having now read the entire series, I felt the first book introduced us to all the characters well, while focusing on the main characters. I enjoyed the entire Seven Devils series and was glad all the loose ends were tied up by the last book.

Two wonderful stories...realistic and somewhat thought provoking.I felt while reading this that the sceanarios are quite believable...the romances are also most realistic...While reading I felt for the main characters and thought about how I would react...It gave me a look into what life is about in the 21st century...I enjoyed this immensely.
