4.0 out of 5 stars The Brannon saga continues, December 28, 2004
After months of digging for gold at the site discovered during Hard Winter, Stuart Brannon and partner Edwin Fletcher finally hit the mother lode, but someone else is after their claim. Aid comes in the unlikely form of three Ute Indians.

Claim jumpers waylay Fletcher on his way back from Tres Casas, and Brannon must rescue him. When the dust clears, he and Fletcher return, but with an additional partner - Velvet Wendell. Before long, the three are under siege by both a professional gunman and the Colorado Southern Mining Corporation. While they struggle to keep their claim and prepare for winter, Brannon wrestles with his own conflicted feelings about their newfound riches.

The second Brannon book does not disappoint. Bly's trademark blend of action, vivid characters, honest faith, and humor in unexpected places comes into focus in this story. This title is regrettably out of print and hard to find.

5.0 out of 5 stars The real story of Stuart Brannon, April 16, 2000

Im sorry but who ever wrote that last review had the wrong book. This book has NOTHING to do with a mouse its a book about a cattle man whos cattle all died and hes now mineing gold to buy more cattle in the mean time some people are trying to steal his mine, he befriends a whole indian tribe, and his friend dies. It is a very good and at times a funny story. I recomend it to anyone! (it may sound a little dull but belive me its not!)

Chris

4.0 out of 5 stars This book is my favorite book and I would like to let re..., December 1, 1997

aders know that I highly recommend this book. This story is very adventorous and is filled with fun-filled adventures, however Stuart, a mouse who was raised in a human family, never actually finds his feathery friend, a bird. Althogh this book is one I highly recommend, many readers always like to know the..the end of things and for that reason I gave this book a 7.
