Editorial Reviews

Review

“French words and phrases scattered throughout the text contribute to the authenticity of the setting of the story. Rajka Kupesic's beautiful paintings combine a naive style with fine detail to effectively depict the story's historical setting . . . Highly recommended.” (Canadian Book Review Annual) “Oil on linen folk art paintings glow from the pages of this book . . . A beautifully composed book.” (The Globe and Mail) --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Lovely story with special meaning to those of us addicted to rughooking. I was especially drawn to the book because I have the pattern for the rug with the hearts on it, pictured in the book. The book and rug together make a nice addition to my 'how-to and history-of' rughooking demonstrations.

This book was reviewed in Rug Hooking Magazine recently. I was delighted to find a children's book about this fiber art. The story is interesting and the illustrations are truly beautiful. A few French words are used in the story.
