I've used this brand and color for years. I bought this three pack from Amazon when it became difficult to find in my local stores. The first box I opened was fine, the other two had some kind of problem when I mixed the developer with the color - it became clotted and was a dark brown color (it should be a cream color). I used it within 30 days of receiving it. I don't know if it reacted like that because its really old and had been sitting in a warehouse for a long time before I got it or it had something to do with the temperature it was stored at in the warehouse, all I know is that I wasted money on defective product and won't buy it again.

This product leaves my hair conditioned and not feeling like straw. I love the way it covers and it does not stain my skin like other products. Just a little Vaseline around hairline and I am ready to go! I just wish it wasn't so hard to find.

I love Hydrience. The post-treatment conditioner leaves my hair feeling like silk; it's amazing stuff with leftovers for weekly treatments that leave my hair shiny and soft. I've used a dozen different haircolor brands -- both professional and drugstore -- to try to get a true burgundy shade, and this is the very best by far. On my dark brown hair this comes out a nice deep red with burgundy highlights. I have a lot of hair so this three-pack is one use for me, and it's a tremendous value over buying individual boxes elsewhere.

I've also used this for decades. It's the only dye that leaves my hair soft, even when used once a month for years. Anytime I had to get dye in a store that didn't carry Hydrience, any other brand, even Cairol, would ruin my hair and I'd have to get most of it cut off.

I got nervous when P&G bought Clairol a few years ago, and now, sure enough, it's impossible to find Hydrience in stores. I bought 3 last boxes of medium brown off a discount rack and one of three of them did what someone else here said...it didn't mix uniformly, didn't dye right, and faded quickly. Obvious they were clearing out old stock.

I wonder if P&G will resell this product under a different name (of course, at a higher price, without the great gloves, without the pre-treatment, and without the coupons.) Has anyone figured out if they've done this?

Meanwhile, I'll take my chances and get what I can here.

Corporate America strikes again.

Hydrience by Clairol, Sable Cove, is the very close to my natural color. The color lasts and does not damage my hair.

So happy Amazon had the color I've been using- none of the local stores seem to carry it anymore. Hydrience has always been so easy to use and not as smelly as some others. I've used it for years on my long (almost gray- shhhh!) hair and have always gotten a lot of compliments.

I haven't been able to find this in stores in months, so I tried Feria, and I was sorely disappointed. I have been an avid user of the Hydrience line for over 15 years, and I love it! My hair doesn't dry out, the color doesn't rinse out after a few washings, and the gray coverage is as complete as advertised.

*12/6/10 I came back to edit my review. I don't know if this was an old batch or what, but the color only lasted a grand total of 9 days at the most. No, didn't dry my hair out per se, but with each shower I watched color going down the drain. Greys popped back on day 11 per each box.

This is a great product. Use it everytime I need to color my hair. Leaves it looking and feeling really great.

Received timely and secure packaging. No problems noted with order. Price was right. Product is getting very difficult to find so appreciate the auto order in several months.

The package came in great condition. Product was as stated, I've used this company through Amazon.com before and will continue to do so. A+
