Don't call it clairvoyance,
By James J. Happ (NY United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Clairvoyance: How to Develop Your Psychic Powers (Paperback)
This book was disappointing. I have read in many books on psychic subjects that clairvoyance means 'clear seeing' and refers to actually seeing visions, beings, auras and other 'other-worldly' things with the third eye. This book explains clairvoyance differently - as intuition in general. It claims to be a guide to development, but offers nothing meaty that you can sink your teeth into and practice. It's really a childrens book with lots of pictures.

A book for the layperson and the curious,
By JST "Peace Out" (Central Indiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Clairvoyance: How to Develop Your Psychic Powers (Paperback)
For a person who is skeptical, this book seems fluff. Yet, give it a read if one is willing to suspend disbelief and be open to the possibility that yes, there is truth to be found within, and one might be pleasently surprised.
I did not find much substance to the book, but I did find it a good beginner's guide or introductory material from one perspective. The orginization into the four elements with three sections per "element" was an interesting sort of orginizational tool, adding a touch of alchemy certainly adds to its sellablity, but does not take from what it has to offer. Intuition vs metaphysical "third eye"? When I read Carl Jung I am not upset that he isn't Henry David Thoreau. I like them both. Plus, I think intuition and metaphysics may similiar to electricity and magnetism - two terms for the same force - as in electromagnetic force (electricity and magnetism the same thing, the same force) and perhaps metaphysicointuition. So buy the book for an interesting read, be willing to use your intuition, suspended any disbelief, open your mind, and see what happens. You might be pleasently surprised what you find in the subconscious, what the unconscious brings to light. But the collective unconscious is a bittersweet fruit, so beware - you just might be transformed, even if just a tiny bit.
