Amazon.com Product Description

Sam Fisher is back for more espionage and intrigue in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. All the nail biting about whether to go in "hot" with guns blazing, or to use stealth is back in this new version, plus some amazing improvements. Chaos Theory ups the ante with vastly improved graphics, totally open level design, and coop gameplay.

Fresh from the East Timor operations, Fisher is now put on the front lines of information warfare. The year is 2008 and the world is suffering from citywide blackouts, stock exchange sabotage, and electronic hijacking of national defense systems. The stakes are high and Fisher, as the NSA's most elite black-ops agent, is inserted in operations to aggressively gather intelligence. A wide range of missions call on a lethal mixture of weapons and close range combat. While Chaos Theory demands the same agility and athleticism required in previous Splinter Cell incarnations, some new weapons, gadgets and moves are available, such as the prototype Land Warrior rifle, and the stealthy, but oh-so-deadly inverted neck break.

In addition to an improved graphics engine, physics are enhanced, too. Enhancements like rag doll physics, particle effects, and realistic interaction with the environment make the Splinter Cell experience more immersive than ever. Just as judging your environment was crucial in past Splinter Cell games, Chaos Theory demands that you understand the delicate balance between light and shadow to stay alive.

Chaos Theory offers great replayability in single player mode, thanks to its vast, open level design. There's always more than one way to achieve your objectives. At the beginning of each mission you are given your objectives, but you must choose how to go about completing them. Decisions about stealth versus conflict are yours to make, too. Should you enter a mission with non-lethal weaponry, a host of guns and ammo, or a little bit of both? You decide.

The Splinter Cell franchise is known for its tense, stealth-driven multi-player modes, and Chaos Theory is no exception. This version adds unique cooperative modes where you and your teammates must complete infiltration missions. Try to keep each other alive. Try to thrive in the dark and strike when the moment is right.

Product Description

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory takes you back into the shadowy world of Sam Fisher, a special agent on the front lines of the information war. It's 2008 when we return to the intrigues of the new warfare; The Japanese economy has collapsed and evidence indicates that it was due to a virus originating from South Korea. The Japanese request American assistance - and Sam Fsher is sent deep into hostile territory, to collect critical intelligence just inches from his worst enemies.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best, May 20, 2006

Chaos Theory is the best Splinter Cell game yet. I expect them to get better as they progress. One of the best things about this game is the adrenalin rush you get as you hang from a pipe with your pistol, drawing a bead on your enemy; knowing you may have only one breath left before he turns and sees you.

Another good thing about this game is the length of the missions.
The other two had long missions but save points every twenty feet. In Chaos Theory you can save it when ever you want and the average amount of checkpoints is three (3) per mission.

The videos are also a heck of alot better than the other two and
the plot is so amazing it's hard to get to the bottom of it.
It's nothing like the first game where nothing suprised you because you knew you had to kill Nikoladze and recover the Ark.
But in CT the amount of work put into the story rivals spy movies like the Mission Impossible series.

The graphics are also the best I have ever seen. Everything looks absolutely real not just in the buildings but also outdoors like when you go to wartorn South Korea it actually looks like people have firing missile and dropping bombs into
Seoul.

The single player mode alone is worth the 20 or 30 bucks you'll pay for the game because Sam Fisher is still the best guy out there. You also get training videos where he instructs you on stealth basics, cool moves and fire and movement. In the other two games you only had the SC-20K with stuff like Sticky Shockers and other non-lethal ammo. But in CT you get the Foregrip attachment for use during prolonged fire. You get the Shotgun attatchment which is deadly from anything up to 20 meters or so. Really good for room clearing.
And here is one really bad thing: the scope from the last two games is gone it's been replaced by a 1.5x scope and the only compensation is you get the Sniper attatchment but even that has it's drawbacks because it makes a heck of a loud noise.

The co-op isn't as good as I had hoped because you only get sticky cameras and you SC-20K is single-fire only. But moves like the Tomoe Nage where you throw your partner through the air and he hits your enemy. There isn't any blood even though the ESRB rating says so and the language is no problem.
Nothing you don't hear in school anyway.

So, all in all, this the best game out there at the moment so go ahead and buy it. DON'T rent it. It only ruins it just buy it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly fun... very few flaws, June 25, 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (Video Game)
Get this game! I havent played Pandora Tomorrow, but I have played the first game in the series and there is no comparison. complex, challengeing-(spelling?)- missions, awesome stealth kills and knock outs, this game has it all. The controls i found (and am finding still) a little hard, but it is a great game.

what i like the most about this game is the very cool stealth moves that have never been seen before in all the other splintercell games. the graphics are very good too but half the time you cant see the best of them because your in the dark. overall chaos theory is a very good game that is way better than what you pay for it.
