the big cash in..,
This review is from: Clandestine (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
Even though these new Earache releases w/ "bonus, free DVD" really smell like a big cash-in on the ole' catolog, some of them are needed. The Earache label was always special and a lot of classics were and still are hard to find. So I forgive the big cash-in. Lets get to the music on this, wich is the core of the European death sound, the swedish crunch. The awesome guitar sound that became a standard to acheive. Entombed were still just kids when this classic mix of doom, thrash, speed and punk was unleashed, this was their 3rd release so they had already developed that grinding fuzzy raunch sound into solid performances. The growls and the evil vibe with the variations of tempos from blasts to crawls you cant get tired of this. You can still play this over and over. The new versions do sound a little better, on the dvd of course it sounds great, but so far I'm not impressed with these DVD's that they're adding, I'm mad cause it makes guys like me shell out for these releases again, but this is essential historic metal, and if you're buying this for the first time you are lucky..

Clandestine is awesome. The bonus DVD was originally released as "Monkey Puss Live in London, 18th March 1992" It contains five music videos and an OK concert.
