Product Description

Amazon.com

Clarion's CMD7 is a versatile marine CD receiver that's watertight and ready to hold up to salt and fog. Play back your CDs, your digital MP3/WMA files from disc or USB devices, and control your iPod directly from the receiver. The CMD7 features 45 watts peak power through four channels, and offers 2V front/rear and subwoofer preamp outputs for building a larger system.

A Versatile and Watertight Marine CD Receiver

Ready for the Harsh Marine Environment

Water is a marine source unit's worst enemy, and when you add salt to the equation, we're talking nightmare. The CMD7 has been IPX5 tested, and certified to offer the highest water intrusion protection and salt resistance in its class.

The unit's watertight flip-down control panel and rubber gaskets stop water in its tracks, with integrated drainage channels to keep water out. It meets ASTM standards for both salt and fog exposure, as well as UV exposure. A HumiSeal coated PCB protects internal components. In short, install it in your boat and forget about it--the CMD7 is ready to withstand the harsh marine environment.

Clarion CMD7 watertight
Water-tight and protected against salt, fog, UV, and humidity.
Clarion MF1Remote Kit
Works with Clarion's wireless MF1Remote Kit.
CD/MP3/WMA Playback

Play back your favorite CDs and CD-R/RW discs, or burn a disc full of MP3/WMA audio files, for hours of entertainment on a single disc.

A rear USB port gives you one other option--swap in USB thumb drives full of MP3s and WMAs for direct playback.

Direct USB iPod/iPhone Control and USB Playback

Got an iPod or iPhone? You'll appreciate the direct iPod connection via the CMD7's rear USB port. Hook up your iPod and it'll stay charged while you enjoy direct control of playback, including genre/album/song title search (you can also operate the iPod directly, of course).

AM/FM Radio

Sometimes a little radio's handy too, for checking in on the news, the weather, or traffic. Instantly dial up your favorites with the CMD7's 24 station presets.

Dial It in With Clarion Beat EQ/Magna Bass EX

In addition to providing three preset equalization patterns (bass boost, impact, and excite) Clarion’s Beat EQ lets you adjust the bass, midrange, and treble to your liking. And whether your music is playing at a low or high volume, Magna Bass EX lets you get well-balanced bass.

Room to Grow

The CMD7 makes a great start for your marine entertainment system, and also offers room to grow. It's ready for wireless and wired controllers offered by Clarion, as well as capable of SIRIUS satellite radio with a Sirius Connect vehicle tuner--no need for an interface box.

If you want a little more than the 45 watts x 4 cranked out by the CMD7, it features 2V front/rear and subwoofer preamp outputs, for adding external amps/speakers.

I installed the stereo this weekend. I'm impressed with the quality of the receiver. Install was easy, the built in amp offers clear and crisp sound. I got the wired remote and the unit works great.

Easy installation.Very satisfied with this stereo. The only down fall with this stereo is that the ipod connection is thru the back of stereo,so you need to run the wire thru your console some how.

Ordered and received radio last fall at the end of boating season. So, I had the radio installed (professionally) this June, and it worked just fine. This was a replacement radio, Clarion for Clarion in a Sea Ray boat, below deck in a cabin, Mounted in a closed cabinet. Just fine until my daughter took an extended hot shower. the cabin filled with moisture. Alas, the radio will not power up. Took the radio to the local Clarion repair center. They inform me the main circut board is corroded, and Clarion does not warranty this. So much for a WATERTIGHT marine radio, and Clarion's warranty. I have no issues with Amazon, as they were great in delivering the radio in a timely manor. Just beware, Clarions marine radios are not watertight, and they do not back their claim. I am stuck with a radio that does not work!!!!!!

Why 3? Had a seedoo jet boat that stayed drenched, radio performed flawlessly (CMD4)- sold boat. Have a 18' welded aluminum river boat w/ CMD6- stays in rain, works flawlessly. Had a 25' Cris craft offshore boat, worked flawlessly in salt water environment hitting big waves- Transom cracked and is now in the bottom of Gulf of Mexico ( CMD7- probably won't work now- HAHAH).

Fixing to purchase another for my new offshore boat, hopefully the boat will outlast the radio this time......

I have always sprayed the radio with a water hose to rinse when washing boats w/ absolutely no problems...

I went thru two of these radios trying to get them to work. I am now returning the second one. Each time the radios have only worked 1-2 times on the boat before failing. The displays have gone out and ultimately the radios stopped working.

These were professionally installed on a brand new 20' Carolina Skiff JVX inside the console and paired up with JBL Marine Speakers. Gave it a chance and Amazon replaced the first one but still it would not work.

Now I am going with a simple marine amplifier to the speakers. My installer tells me this has less moving parts and are much more durable. If you insist on getting a radio trust me look for something better.
