5.0 out of 5 stars ATTENTION CLASSIC CAR ENTHUSIASTS AND HOT RODDERS!!!, August 4, 2011

This review is from: Clarion CMS1 Source Commander with USB Port (Electronics)
When looking to put a stereo system in my 70 Nova, I wanted to get a stereo that would be hidden and out of sight. I did not want to put a cd player in the dash because I wanted a classic look. I also did not want to put a cd player in the glove box or the trunk (operating the unit would be a pain and take up room that I may need). Additionally, I did not want to deal with cd skipping due to bumps in the road, engine vibration, or extreme heat. There is a company that makes a "Secret Hideaway" stereo unit but the quality is crap and it is overpriced. I came across this unit during my search and it appealed to me because of the Clarion name, size & features of the unit. Needless to say, this unit ROCKS. Now when I get in my Nova, I hook up my IPOD and listen to tunes whereever I go. I installed the unit under the driver's seat and just keep the main head unit in between the front bucket seats. Even when driving, the unit is easy to reach and operate. I wrote this review for individuals looking for a hideaway type system for their classic car. If you are one of those people, just buy this unit. You will love it!! Dont forget to buy the correct IPOD adapter cord (there are two and if you buy the wrong one for your IPOD--it will no play). Also, you may need to extend your antenna cable. You can buy extension antenna cables at any good local audio installation place.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Decent unit., June 27, 2011
This review is from: Clarion CMS1 Source Commander with USB Port (Electronics)
I purchased this specific unit as I was very limited with space and it fit the bill well. Reception is good, ipod function works well.
The only negative (which seems to be common with most electronics today) is the installation directions are very limited in the wiring description.
Overall I am happy with my purchase.
